Chevron, Japan's MOL to Study CO2 Transportation from Singapore to Subsea Storage in Australia

Chevron Corporation and Japan's Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) have signed an agreement to study the feasibility of transporting liquefied carbon dioxide from Singapore to permanent storage locations offshore Australia. Chevron New Energies International Pte. Woodside Energy GWF-2 Commences Production

NWS Approve Persephone Project

participants have approved the Persephone Project off the north-west coast of Australia. The Persephone Project is the third major gas development for the NWS Project in the past six years, demonstrating the joint venture’s commitment to maximising the value of Australia’s largest operating oil and gas project. The project will involve a two well, 7km subsea tieback from the Persephone field to the existing North Rankin Complex. The total investment for the project is expected to be approximately A$1.2 billion (Operator’s estimate; 100% cost), with project start-up expected in early 2018. capabilities to unlock undeveloped resources and help maintain offshore supply to the Karratha Gas Plant.

Fairstar Contracts For Gorgon LNG Project

Fairstar Heavy Transport NV (FAIR) has been awarded two transportation contracts by Chevron Australia Pty Ltd and Kellogg Joint Venture - Gorgon. The contracts were signed by representatives of both companies on May 31, 2010. Under the terms of the agreements, Fairstar will provide two of its Semi Submersible Heavy Transport Vessels for the transportation of modules and related project materials from various construction sites throughout Asia, to the Gorgon Project’s LNG Plant being constructed on Barrow Island off the northwest coast of Australia. The two contracts are for a minimum term of one year per contract and can be extended at the option of Chevron and Kellogg Joint Venture for an additional four month period.

Technip, Wheatstone Project Processing Platform

Technip has been awarded, by Chevron Australia Pty Ltd, a front end engineering design (FEED) contract for the offshore processing platform associated with the Wheatstone Project in Australia. The upstream (offshore) portion of the project comprises development of gas fields in the WA-17-R and WA-253-P petroleum titles located on the Northwest Shelf offshore Western Australia at water depths of 70 to 200 meters. Subsea gas gathering systems will transport production to the processing platform where the gas and condensate will be respectively dehydrated, dewatered, compressed and exported through a 200 kilometers export pipeline to the onshore gas plant located at Ashburton North, 12 kilometers west of Onslow, on the Pilbara coast of mainland Western Australia.

Clough AMEC - Chevron Australia Contract

J. Ray McDermott Awarded Australian Project

McDermott International subsidiary J. Ray McDermott, S.A. won a $77 million contract by Woodside Energy Ltd., operator of the North West Shelf Venture's LNG Phase V Expansion project in Australia. Under the contract, J. Ray will undertake construction engineering, procurement, fabrication, assembly and erection of 75 pre-assembled module and pipe rack units totaling nearly 22,000 short tons. Completed modules and pipe racks will be shipped from J. Ray's Batam Island, Indonesian fabrication facility to Western Australia, and transported to the Venture's LNG facilities on the Barrup Peninsula where the new LNG "Train V" is being constructed.
