Ludwig Named Coast Guard Foundation President

Susan P. Ludwig will replace Anne B. Brengle as president of the Coast Guard Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to the education and welfare of all Coast Guard members and their families. Ludwig, presently Regional Director of Philanthropy, will assume her new position in January following Brengle’s retirement this December. Ludwig will lead the organization, its board and staff through a nationwide effort to increase awareness for the Coast Guard and the Foundation and strengthen support for programs that benefit Coast Guard members and their families.

Coast Guard Foundation Hires Northeast Director

The Coast Guard Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to the education and welfare of all Coast Guard members and their families, announced today the addition of Susan Ludwig to its staff as Regional Director of Philanthropy. Based in Fairfield County, Ms. Ludwig will work in the northeastern United States, concentrating on New York, Connecticut and New Jersey to engage individual, corporation and foundation donors and prospects to broaden the reach of the Foundation in the region. Coast Guard Foundation Initiates Fund Drive

The Coast Guard Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to the education, welfare and morale of all Coast Guard members and their families, has announced  that it is launching a fundraising campaign to support Coast Guard members and their families who were affected by Hurricane Sandy. Working closely with the Coast Guard, the Coast Guard Foundation will distribute funds to Coast Guard members who are stationed in the affected areas of Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

At this year’s event, the Foundation has partnered with the Commissioning Committee for the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter William Flores.

Annual Event Honors Coast Guard Heroes

The Coast Guard Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to the education, welfare and morale of all Coast Guard members and their families, announced the 2012 Coast Guard Foundation Award for Heroism will be presented to Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak, for its rescue of eleven people in January 2012, at the 32nd Annual Salute to the United States Coast Guard event on Thursday, October 11, 2012 in New York City. On January 24, 2012, Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak was called into action to assist mariners of the 58-foot fishing vessel, Kimberly, in distress in treacherous weather conditions on Portage Bay. The boat reported being grounded in ice and hypothermic conditions as the results of category 3 hurricane level winds, 20-foot seas and heavy snow.

Traverse City Gets “Coast Guard City” Designation

Coast Guard Foundation Appoints Brengle as New President

The Coast Guard Foundation has appointed Anne B. Brengle as president of the national nonprofit organization. With her strong background in nonprofit management, fundraising and capital campaigns, Brengle will lead the organization’s nationwide effort to increase public awareness and funding for programs benefiting the men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard and Coast Guard Academy. Anne Brengle has nearly three decades of experience in institutional advancement and management. Before being appointed president of the Coast Guard Foundation, Brengle served as president of the New Bedford Whaling Museum in Massachusetts from 1994 to 2007.
