Two new compressors were lifted aboard the Troll A platform in the North Sea, energy firm Statoil (STO) said on Thursday, a key step in boosting recovery from Norway's largest gas field by more than 83 billion standard cubic meters of gas.

Troll has sustained technical problems since January last year that have limited the company's ability to produce gas.

Once running, the compressors will allow Statoil to export 120 million cubic metres of gas per day from the field.
