UAE Confirms Deaths in Drydock Accident

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) issued a news release reporting that thirteen people died when gates at the Dubai Drydock collapsed, permitting uncontrolled flooding of the dock basin. A later Report says that 23 missing workers have been rescued. Five vessels in the drydock suffered varying degrees of damage. An inquiry has commenced into the cause of the accident. The drydock, at 1,709 ft., in length and with a breadth of 328 ft., is one of the largest in the world. Source: HK Law
