Sea Star Line, LLC and Applied Cryo Technologies (ACT), in cooperation with Dragon Products, have finalized plans for the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering system that will supply Sea Star Line’s new ships. Sea Star Line and its parent company TOTE are building the world’s first LNG-powered containerships that will begin serving the Puerto Rican market later this year. The LNG bunkering system is a critical part of the LNG supply chain for the Marlin Class ships. The system is comprised of 25 cryogenic IMO tanks that will transport LNG from Georgia to Jacksonville. In addition, ACT will ensure that the new ships can be fueled safely and effectively in under six hours, enabling Sea Star Line to maintain its on-time commitment to the people of Puerto Rico.

Adonis AS (Adonis), a provider of global maritime HR solutions, announced that Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS) has implemented Adonis Personnel Manager (APM) to automate crew planning processes for its multinational maritime workforce. The solution will enable PGS to simplify the management of crew rotations and centralize major crewing processes, such as Visa applications, work permits and compliance with maritime requirements (offshore certificates, valid medical certificates, etc.), all from a single platform.

Conrad Industries held a ribbon cutting ceremony yesterday at its new repair and conversion facility in Amelia, La. Several local politicians were on hand including, Bill Cefalu, St. Mary Parish President; Representative Jack Smith, Louisiana District 50; Representative Carla Dartez, Louisiana District 51; State Senator D. A. “Butch” Gautreaux, Louisiana District 21; Dr. Tim Tregle, Mayor of Morgan City; and Emile Babin, President & CEO of the St. Inc. Kenneth G. “Jerry” Myers, Jr., Conrad’s President and CEO commented, “We are happy to christen this new repair and conversion facility and are extremely excited about the strategic advantages that this facility provides Conrad.
