Fincantieri and Princess Cruises have chosen Consilium to outfit the new 141,000 GT under construction, Royal Princess, and her yet-to-be-named sister, with the safety system in compliance with the latest regulation "Safe Return to Port". The two vessels are prototype ships for Princess Cruise brand. At 141,000 gross tons with a maximum passenger capacity of 3,600, they will be the largest cruise ships ever built by Fincantieri and the flagships of Princess Cruises fleet.
The configuration of the Salwico Safety system includes 7 interactive and double-redundant control units, utilizing the unique Salwi-com protocol compliant with Safe Return to Port.
Additionally, a Gas Detection System for CO2 and Propane detection is included in the scope of supply.
These two vessels are the 18th and 19th in PC's present fleet equipped and protected by Consilium and historically, the 25th and 26th including the earlier dismissed ships. They were constructed at Monfalcone Shipyard and are scheduled to be delivered in Spring 2013 and Spring 2014, respectively.
