Atlantic Marine Associates Inc. (AMA) a member of the Eagle Ocean Group appoints John S. Poulson to head the new service.

Trading as AMA Consulting Services, the new entity is led by John S. Poulson, latterly president of GL Noble Denton, New York, and a leading expert in the marine engineering, survey, loss prevention and consultancy fields.

AMA Consulting Services’ principal activity is carrying out independent surveys, investigations, advisory and other consultancy work for a broad maritime clientele, including shipowners, underwriters and others engaged in the shipping and marine insurance industries. It represents a new and growing subset of AMA’s broad range of existing capabilities which also embrace claims management and related services, including average adjusting and correspondency work.

Speaking in New York, Mr. Poulson saw great opportunities for the new operation:  “AMA Consulting Services has a bright future.  It aims to become the supplier of first choice in the marine surveying, investigation, consultancy and advisory sector.  As an integral part of Atlantic Marine Associates, its capabilities both complement and gain strength from the varied resources of the Eagle Ocean Group as a whole.”

He continued: “The new facility will be staffed by highly professional and experienced people who will deliver added value to clients by thoroughly understanding their needs. We are single-mindedly committed to protecting our clients’ interests, and earning their enduring trust, as we grow our business over the months and years ahead.”
