Value Maritime Installs First Filtree System for Ardmore Shipping

Siemens, Carlyle Near $2.4 Billion Deal Over Flender Business

Engie to Invest in Green Gas in France

Isabelle Kocher, Engie CEO, announced that EUR 800 million would be mobilized in the next five years to develop green gases, a new French sector of excellence that will create value and jobs in France.François de Rugy, French Minister of State, Minister of the Ecological and Solidarity Transition was present during the announcement. This plan will support the objective of at least 10% green gas injected into the networks by 2030, as enshrined in the French Energy Transition Law for Green Growth.The global energy and services group Engie is positioning itself throughout the entire value chain of the biomethane industry: from project development, in close collaboration with farmers, to the sale to end consumers.

Charleston Gains Cold Storage Capacity

South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) officials celebrated the newly-expanded New Orleans Cold Storage (NOCS) facility in North Charleston, an important addition to SCPA's ability to serve the growing refrigerated cargo market. Driven by SCPA's 38 percent growth of refrigerated cargo since 2011, Charleston has attracted significant investments in cold storage over the past year, SCPA said. "NOCS's expansion is significant to SCPA, especially given the strategic importance of refrigerated cargo to our business," said Jim Newsome, SCPA president and CEO. Completed in November 2015, the expansion increases the facility's blast freezing capabilities by 50 percent. The addition of 81,000 square feet more than doubles NOCS's local footprint, which now offers 136,000 square feet of cold storage.

Costa Cruises Receives ABB Award

Costa Cruises has received the ABB Energy Efficiency Award 2009 in recognition of its efforts and progress in improving energy efficiency in its motor and drive systems. The prize was presented as part of “Energy Efficiency Award 2009. Designing and achieving energy efficiency: new conversations”, an event promoted and arranged by Abb Sace, a division of ABB Spa, and hosted by Mario Tozzi, an outstanding Italian science divulger. In addition to Costa Cruises’ project, the initiatives implemented by the other two prize-winning Italian enterprises – Fiat Auto and Fiorucci, leaders in the vehicle manufacturing and food industries, respectively – were also illustrated at the ceremony.
