HHLA's Revenue & Earnings Rise

In the first half of 2014, Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) increased its revenue by 5.2 percent to € 595.7 million and improved its operating result (EBIT) by 3.4 percent to € 81.4 million. HHLA has confirmed its forecast for the full year 2014. “Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG has achieved a favourable performance in the first half of 2014. We have maintained our significantly expanded market position in container handling as well as the growth trend for our container transport services, with a further rise in market shares. This has enabled us to generate higher revenue and improve our earnings. Despite rising competitive pressure and continuing infrastructure restrictions, this is a highly significant development”, said Klaus-Dieter Peters, Chairman of HHLA’s Executive Board.

FCS Logistics Renamed GreenCarrier Finland

The IATA approved Finnish forwarding company Oy FCS Logistics Ltd has been renamed GreenCarrier Finland Oy, with effect from 23 February, 2009. All contact details will be unchanged with the exception of e-mail addresses, which will adopt the style [email protected]. The company’s new website address will be www.greencarrier.com. FCS Logistics was acquired by the Gothenburg-headquartered logistics specialist GreenCarrier International in June 2008 as part of its strategy to strengthen its position in the Nordic region. Founded in 1995, FCS offers international air and sea container transport services and as an IATA approved forwarder, the company has contracts with major airlines around the world. It also offers charter transport and on-board courier services.

CP Ships to Acquire ROE Logistics

CP Ships Limited and Montreal-based ROE Logistics have entered into an agreement for CP Ships to acquire ROE. As a way of leveraging our strong regional positions and adding value to our core container services, we are selectively developing logistics services in markets where it makes sense," commented CP Ships CEO Ray Miles. "Well established in one of our key regions, ROE will enable us to build on the container transport services we offer our Montreal and Vancouver Gateway customers."
