Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

August 31, 2000

Kvaerner Masa-Yards has again been called upon by Costa Crociere to build a sistership to Costa Atlantica, which was delivered in June. The vessel, which is worth more than $301 million, will be constructed at Kvaerner's New Helsinki shipyard for a spring 2003 delivery. Representing the eighth ship in the Costa Atlantica fleet, the new 2,100-passenger, 86,000-ton vessel is the fifth member of the "8000-class" series of Panamax-size ships.
