OCTOPUS-Onboard for Dockwise Vanguard

Amarcon, a member of the ABB group, received an OCTOPUS-Onboard order for the new build Dockwise Vanguard. This vessel is one of the largest and most advanced heavy lift vessel ever built. The vessel was launched in November 2012 and is currently undergoing sea trials. Dockwise was founded in 1993 as a merger between Wijsmuller Transport and Dock Express Shipping, making Dockwise the world’s largest and most versatile heavy transport shipping company. Dockwise Q2 2009 Results

Dockwise Ltd. announced its second quarter and interim 2009 results. "Dockwise has had a good second quarter, and in quieter market conditions the business is displaying its strengths. This steady operational performance has allowed us significantly to deleverage the business by nearly USD 100 million in the first half of 2009, and we continue in our efforts to strengthen the balance sheet. Stringent cost discipline and a stop on hiring of new personnel is and will be continued. Dockwise's global spread has given us access to business wherever it has emerged, while utilization rates of over 90 per cent have sustained a healthy EBITDA margin and strong cash generation.

Dockwise Reduces Debt by $58m in Q2

Dockwise announced that it expects to reduce its debt by a total of $58m to just below $963m by the end of Q2 2009. Following its 18-month refurbishment, MV Mighty Servant 3 will shortly rejoin the fleet of Dockwise Transport B.V., a wholly owned subsidiary of Dockwise Ltd. Mighty Servant 3 will bring Dockwise's total fleet to 20 semi submersible vessels. Delivery of the vessel triggers the release of the remaining $40.6m currently held in escrow to cover the costs of reinstatement and vendor compensation. Settlement of the previously announced debt buy back is scheduled for 30 June 2009. As a result, the group's debt will reduce by some $8.5m. Dockwise agreed the sales of Dock Express 10 and 12 in 2008 as part of its strategy to optimize fleet composition.

Dockwise Sells Dock Express 10 and 12

Dockwise Ltd. announced the sale of two type IV vessels to focus the company's fleet on premium cargoes. Both Dock Express 10 and 12 have been sold to an undisclosed buyer at a modest book profit to Dockwise. DE 10 was delivered to the buyer on Feb. 10, and DE 12 will be transferred end of April 2009. The divestment by subsidiaries of the two of Dockwise's type IV vessels,followed from a cost-revenue analysis of the vessels' operation in market segments with a relatively low contribution. Furthermore, with DE 10 and DE 12 having completed 30 years service, maintenance to meet Dockwise's offshore equipment standards would require additional investment in Life Time Extension.

Super Post-Panamax Cranes Arrive at Port of Savannah

After 22 months of anticipation, two new Super Post-Panamax cranes finally arrived at the Port of Savannah’s Ocean Terminal on Saturday, June 18, 2005. Before reaching their final destination in Savannah, Ga., the cranes 47-day long journey aboard the 505-foot custom-made ship, Dock Express 10, originated at the Port of Tianjin, China. The cranes are the largest ship-to-shore cranes in the world, each with a length of 465 feet, a height of 374 feet with its boom raised, a weight of 1,369 tons and a span capacity of 22 containers across and six containers high on deck. The lift capacity of each crane is 72 tons under the spreader bar and 95 tons under the cargo beam. “We are very happy the new cranes have finally arrived,” said Georgia Ports Authority Executive Director Doug J. Marchand.

A&P wins Conversion Contract

A&P Tyne Ltd, part of UK’s A&P Group, was awarded the first phase of a multi-million dollar conversion contract involving the 14,793 grt Dock Express 20 by De Beers Marine (Pty) Ltd of South Africa. This 1983-built ship will arrive at the yard during August this year (2005) and remain for up to 11 months. On completion of the project the vessel will return to South African waters for the finishing touches to enable her to operate as a fully equipped diamond-mining vessel.
