Donjon Marine Supports Navy Hurricane Response

Donjon Marine Co., Inc., a provider of multi-faceted marine services including marine salvage, heavy lift, dredging, related emergency response services, and most recently shipbuilding and repair, was mobilized from its base in Port Newark, New Jersey to provide an emergency pumping capability in response to the devastation resulting from Hurricane Sandy. Donjon holds the U.S. Navy Salvage and Related Services contract for the North Atlantic zone. The U.S. Navy provided support to the stricken region as a result of a request by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Donjon Salvages Sunken Barge

Donjon’s Chesapeake 1,000 heavy lift crane works to salvage a sunken barge under the Newport Pell Bridge in Newport, Rhode Island last November.

Donjon Marine, Co., Inc., a provider of multi-faceted marine services including marine salvage, heavy lift, dredging and related emergency response services, was contracted in early November 2011 to raise a 300-ton barge used as a platform for painting supplies and disposal equipment that sank in 100 feet of water after a violent Nor’Easter storm near Newport Pell Bridge in Newport, Rhode Island. The barge also contained oil in three tanks with a reported 2,400 gallons of fuel at the time of the sinking. Working closely with the U.S.

Donjon Completes Contract on Grand Bahama

On November 28, Donjon Marine, Co., Inc., a provider of multi-faceted marine services including marine salvage, heavy lift, dredging, recycling, demolition and related emergency response services, completed heavy lift work for Grand Bahama Shipyard Limited on Grand Bahama Island. The Donjon tug Mary Alice and derrick-barge Chesapeake 1000 assisted the shipyard with the lifting, transport and placement of a pre-fabricated module weighing approximately 375 metric tons for the Holland America Lines’ Rotterdam cruise ship.

Donjon Sells Interest in Port Albany Ventures

Donjon Marine, Co., Inc., a provider of multi-faceted marine services including marine salvage, heavy lift, dredging and related emergency response services, has sold its 50% interest in Port Albany Ventures, LLC (PAV), a 28-acre mixed-use bulk material stevedoring operation located on the Hudson River Ind., Bethlehem, N.Y., to its Joint Venture Partner, Sims Metal Management Limited (ASX: SGM; NYSE: SMS), a metal and electronics recycling company.    The sale of the terminal interest will facilitate Donjon’s further expansion into other marine markets.  Donjon will retain DMC Marine, which owns and operates the tugs and barges previously owned and operated by PAV.    (www.donjon.com)

Donjon Work on M/V Fedra Continues

Donjon Marine, Co., Inc., a provider marine services including marine salvage, heavy lift, dredging and related emergency response services, continues work on a contract awarded on March 24, 2009 for the wreck removal and disposal of the remnants of the M/V Fedra which, in October 2008, grounded and partially sank during a storm. On May 25, 2009, Donjon commenced site operations and with support from local subcontractors, performed vessel remediation as well as pre-cutting portions of the remaining deck house…

Donjon Awarded Contract in Gibraltar

Donjon Marine was awarded a contract to remove and dispose of the M/V Fedra in Gibraltar, the southern-most tip of the Iberian Peninsula that borders Spain.

Donjon Marine, Co., Inc., a provider of multi-faceted marine services including marine salvage, heavy lift, dredging and related emergency response services, was awarded a contract on March 24, 2009 for the wreck removal and disposal of the remnants of the M/V Fedra. On October 10, 2008, during a significant storm, the M/V Fedra grounded and subsequently sank off the eastern side of Europa Point in Gibraltar in approximately 20 feet of water. As a result of the grounding and pounding of the vessel due to sea conditions, the vessel separated in two pieces at the forward end of No. 6 Cargo Hold.

DONJON Contracted to Salvage Tugboat Pair

Donjon Marine Co., Inc., a provider of multi-faceted marine services including marine salvage, heavy lift, dredging and related emergency response services, was contracted under a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) by the U.S. Coast Guard to provide emergency salvage services for two tugboats that sank on July 28, 2008 at a pier adjacent to the Schuylkill River near the Girard Point Bridge outside Philadelphia, PA. At the time of the sinking of the Scooby Doo and Big Boy, reportedly more than 2,000 gallons of petroleum based contaminants were released into the water. Divers have reduced the out flow from the tugs but due to the condition of the vessels, the flow cannot be stopped until the vessels are salvaged.

Donjon Purchases Tug

New Donjon Tug, Meagan Ann, formerly Scorpius

Donjon Marine Co., Inc., a provider of multi-faceted marine services including marine salvage, heavy lift, dredging and related emergency response services, has purchased the tugboat, the 81-ft.Meagan Ann, formerly the Scorpius, from Constellation Maritime, a subsidiary of Foss Maritime.  The Meagan Ann is a twin-engine, 2,250 hp coastal towing tug, built in 1975 and rebuilt in 1988. The Meagan Ann will join Donjon’s tug fleet and support its marine transportation and dredging operations.

Donjon Marine Tows Disabled LNG Carrier

Donjon Marine Co., Inc. provided the 7000hp salvage tug Atlantic Salvor to assist the (LNG) tanker Catalunya Spirit, which lost propulsion and became disabled and adrift East of Cape Cod in February.
