Avenir LNG Names Baltar CFO

liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplier Avenir LNG announced it has appointed Abigail Baltar as its new chief financial officer.Baltar first joined Avenir assuming the role of head of finance in 2020. She brings with her over 20 years of financial, investment and corporate finance experience, the last 11 of which have been within the shipping and oil and gas industry.Avenir LNG chief executive officer, Peter Mackey, said, "I am delighted to appoint Abigail as our CFO. Norwegian offshore vessel owner Eidesvik Offshore has named Helga Cotgrove as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Cotgrove will join Eidesvik Offshore October 1, 2022 at the latest. Tidewater Names CFO, COO

U.S. offshore support vessel company Tidewater has announced the promotion of two key members of the company’s executive team, Sam R. Rubio and David E. Darling, to the positions of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, respectively.Rubio has been promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, following his accomplishments serving as the Company’s Chief Accounting Officer and Controller since joining Tidewater following the combination with GulfMark Offshore, Inc. in 2018. Prior to joining Tidewater he served as GulfMark’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, after holding the position of Chief Accounting Officer for over 10 years.

Seaspan Marine Transportation Names Wortman CFO

Seaspan Marine Transportation said it has appointed Linda Wortman as Chief Financial Officer.Wortman brings to this position more than 25 years of accounting and finance experience. She joined Seaspan in 2008 as Controller, Marine and was promoted to Vice President, Corporate Finance, Accounting in 2016. Her responsibilities were expanded to include Seaspan’s Corporate Supply Chain Management and Risk and Insurance functions in 2017.

With more than 15 years of senior finance experience in engineering and industrial environments Mr. Clarke brings his strong background in strategic finance to Seaspan’s growing shipbuilding and ship repair operations.Clarke joins Seaspan from the Houston, Texas, office of SNC Lavalin where he was the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Finance for the Oil and Gas Division with operations in the Americas, Middle East, and Australia.

Tissot Appointed VP & CFO, Bureau Veritas

Bureau Veritas announces the appointment of Nicolas Tissot as Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer. He replaces Sami Badarani, who has decided to leave the company to pursue new professional opportunities. Nicolas Tissot has solid management and finance experience gained in key roles within international groups. Before joining Bureau Veritas, he was Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Executive Committee member of SCOR. He previously held various roles, including finance director positions at Alstom and ENGIE (GDF Suez). A qualified chartered accountant with an MBA from London Business School, Mr Sharma joins RBG with more than 25 years finance experience and is based at the company’s Aberdeen, UK headquarters.

DryShips Appoints Nakhleh CFO

DryShips Inc. (NASDAQ: DRYS), a global provider of marine transportation services for drybulk cargoes and off-shore contract drilling oil services, announced that it named Ziad Nakhleh as the Company's Chief Financial Officer effective November 1, 2009. This position was previously occupied on an interim basis by George Economou, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Nakhleh, 37, has over 12 years of finance experience. From January, 2005 to September, 2008, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Aegean Marine Petroleum Network Inc., a publicly traded marine fuels logistics company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, where he led the company's $200m IPO in December 2006.

First Ship Lease Closes $100m Mezzanine Financing

First Ship Lease Ltd., a commercial finance company focused on diverse shipping assets, today announced the successful completion of a $100 million mezzanine financing facility. The mezzanine facility, combined with previous equity financing and senior debt to be raised on a transactional basis, allows First Ship Lease to provide in excess of $500 million in operating and finance leases to shipping and industrial companies that meet its credit criteria. The mezzanine financing was fully underwritten by BTM Capital Corporation of Boston, a subsidiary of Japan's premier bank, The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Ltd.; Germany-based HSH Nordbank AG, the world's largest ship mortgage lender; and Vereins -und Westbank Group, a subsidiary of Germany's second-largest bank, HypoVereinsbank.
