Comark Receives ABS Type Approval

Type Approval is given to products for marine and offshore applications that are designed and tested, and can be consistently manufactured, to meet IEC 60945 Standards for Maritime Navigation and Radio Communication Equipment and Systems.

Comark Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of ruggedized custom computer solutions for the marine and military markets, expanded its portfolio of computer solutions by announcing the availability of the Rugged 5-Slot 2U Rackmount Chassis. The 2U Rackmount Chassis offers high-speed Core 2 Duo Quad processing, 16GB RAM, dual hot swappable drives, a hot swappable power supply, and a DVD/CD-RW drive. It is designed with a black steel case, aluminum front panel, and a locking front door that protects the power switch and 2 USB ports.

The MDU PC Series combines the functionality of a computer, display and optional touchscreen into a modular assembly. The MDUPC-15, MDUPC-19 and MDUPC-20 (15”, 19” and 20” displays respectively) are designed for military and rugged commercial marine markets.

Comark Expands EnduraShock Panels

Comark Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of custom computer solutions for the marine and military markets, expanded its portfolio of MIL qualified computer and display products with the availability of the EnduraShock™ 1900 Operator Interface Panel. The EnduraShock 1900 is a bulkhead-mounted modular computer and display unit designed to meet military specifications. The display is a 250 NIT, 19” diagonal LCD. An optional 1000 NIT LED backlit LCD is available for sunlight readability. Both display options are available with resistive touchscreens.

DuraMobile Computer Receives Approval

Comark Corporation, designer and manufacturer of custom computer solutions for the marine, military, industrial, and commercial markets, received type approval on their DuraMobile marine computer from the American Bureau of Ships (ABS). The DuraMobile has been designed and tested to meet the requirements of IEC60945 and provides a cost effective solution for marine applications requiring a type-approved computer. The computer has no moving parts and is cooled using an aluminum heat sink instead of fans and supports 2 PCI slots.

USN Awards 391 Contractors

The U.S. Navy is awarding indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity multiple award contracts to 391 contractors that will provide for their competition for service requirements solicited by Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Air Systems Command, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, Naval Supply Systems Command, Military Sealift Command, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Strategic Systems Programs, and the United States Marine Corps. The 22 functional service areas within the scope of the contracts include 1. Research and Development Support. 2. Engineering System Engineering and Process Engineering Support. 3. Modeling, Simulation, Stimulation, and Analysis Support. 4. Prototyping, Pre-Production, Model-Making, and Fabrication Support.
