Huge Yacht Carrier Headed for South Pacific

New policies making it easier for foreign-flagged vessels to explore the coastlines of Australia have lead DYT Yacht Transport (DYT) to schedule its largest semi-submersible yacht carrier, the 686-foot (209-metre) Yacht Express, to deliver yachts to the South Pacific. The trip coordinates with the end of the Mediterranean charter season, starting in Genoa (Italy) in November to accommodate private luxury yachts and charter vessels departing from the Mediterranean Sea. The 126-foot research vessel M/V OCEARCH is currently making its way from Port Everglades, Florida to Brisbane, Australia on board DYT Yacht Transport’s semisubmersible ship 686’ flagship Yacht Express. The research vessel is the namesake of the nonprofit organization OCEARCH, which is globally recognized for its work in the field of ocean sustainability. DYT has partnered with the organization to support its study of sharks and other large predators that are essential to the future of the marine ecosystem.

Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) has completed the sale of Dockwise Yacht Transport (DYT to Sevenstar Yacht Transport B.V. based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. With the acquisition of Dockwise in March 2013, Boskalis also acquired the activities of Dockwise Yacht Transport (DYT). DYT's core business is the transatlantic transportation of luxury yachts between Florida, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. Boskalis considers that these activities have no strategic value and do not fit with the group's existing core business.

Dockwise Offers Southbound Superyacht Discount Deliveries

DYT offers an attractive discount on southbound shipping for the 2013 as well as 2014 and 2015 editions of the popularNew Zealand Millenium Cup superyacht event. The discounted  DYT voyage for 2013 will sail from Palma de Mallorca, Spain at the end of November and stop in Le Marin (Martinique),  Port Everglades (Florida) and Golfito (Costa Rica) in December before arriving in Auckland in perfect time for the regatta’s February 14 start. The New Zealand Millennium Cup, hosted by the New Zealand Marine Export Group from February 14-17, 2013.

Dockwise Secures $55m in Contracts

Dockwise Ltd. announced 12 new awards totaling $55m, of which six, to the value of more than $15m, are for execution in Q4 2011. The remaining contracts are for execution in 2012 and 2013. Furthermore the company has entered into a Master Service Agreement (MSA) with Keppel of Singapore for transportation of their jack-up and semi-submersible drilling units. The $55m awards comprise contracts for transportation of four jack-up drilling rigs, one semi-submersible drilling rig, assorted dredging equipment, offshore transfer and elevation platforms and tugs & barges. Transportations in 2012 will now also include a SPAR buoy from Finland to the Gulf of Mexico and a LOI for a multi voyage module transportation assignment.

Dockwise Sees Demand for Yacht Transport in South Pacific

“The Australian yacht market is very buoyant at present due to the strong Australian dollar,” said Roberts. Super Servant 3, at 456 feet (139 meters) in length and operating on a regular schedule to deliver yachts around the world, will look something like a giant moving marina when it comes to Brisbane. By “sinking” its dock bay, it will safely float off its cargo of yachts. Captains, owners and crew will be aboard the vessels during disembarkment, ready to take them by their own power on to new adventures.

Dockwise Q2 2009 Results

Dockwise Ltd. announced its second quarter and interim 2009 results. "Dockwise has had a good second quarter, and in quieter market conditions the business is displaying its strengths. This steady operational performance has allowed us significantly to deleverage the business by nearly USD 100 million in the first half of 2009, and we continue in our efforts to strengthen the balance sheet. Stringent cost discipline and a stop on hiring of new personnel is and will be continued. Dockwise's global spread has given us access to business wherever it has emerged, while utilization rates of over 90 per cent have sustained a healthy EBITDA margin and strong cash generation.

Dockwise Joins Forces with Yacht Path

Dockwise Ltd. announced plans for its wholly owned subsidiary Dockwise Yacht Transport (DYT) to merge with Yacht Path International Inc. The combination of Yacht Path with DYT will create an enterprise capable of transporting yachts of any size to any destination around the globe and broaden the scope of services to any client, from private owner and charter company to brokers and shipyards. Yacht Path will contribute its worldwide expertise in lift on/lift off transportation: the chief mode of transport for small to medium yachts up to 80 ft, aboard ocean-going cargo and container vessels. DYT will bring expertise in "float on/float off" transportation for large yachts up to 200 ft on its four submersible yacht carrier vessels.

DYT Makes Large Yacht Shipments

In late February, Dockwise Yacht Transport’s (DYT) 456 ft Super Servant 3 left Port Everglades for Toulon, unloading 18 yachts and loading one in St. Thomas, then moved on to Martinique where it loaded 18 more yachts, totaling 32 power and sailing yachts for a final cargo value of $140m. In early March, the second of DYT’s fleet of semi-submersible transport ships, the 556 ft Super Servant 4, departed from Port Everglades, heading to Palma de Mallorca with another $140m worth of yachts.

Yacht Express Makes Debut Down Under

Dockwise Yacht Transports’ (DYT) newest ship, the 687.5-ft. (209 meter) Yacht Express, is due to arrive in next week. The largest vessel of its kind in the world, Yacht Express was purpose-built with a semi-submersible dock bay that allows yachts of any size to be safely floated on and off as cargo. The ship made its maiden voyage from , , to , in April with a mostly-megayacht load worth $154m. Twenty-five of the vessels will unload in while eight will remain in transit. Sixteen vessels will then load in for the return voyage where their final destination will be either , (Tahiti) or before Yacht Express returns to for its next transatlantic expedition. The Yacht Express has a service speed of 18 knots which aims to pare down transport times. Yacht Express is more than 130 ft.

DYT Completes First Voyage to Dubai

Dockwise Yacht Transport (DYT) recently delivered a shipment of pleasure yachts to Jebel Ali, Dubai on February 19, in time for the Dubai International Boat Show, which begins March 11th. The operation took place aboard the Lady Gloria, a ship supplied by BBC Chartering and Logistics, which partnered with DYT last October to expand global shipping options for DYT customers and will now regularly service Dubai and other previously hard-to-reach destinations. Dockwise Christens Super Ship in China

Dockwise Yacht Transport , a group company of Dockwise, recently merged with Sealift Ltd, has christened the largest and most modern yacht carrier in the world. The vessel has been built at the Yantai Raffles Shipyard in China. The 687.5-foot (209 meter) Yacht Express is purpose-built with a semi-submersible dock bay that allows yachts of any size to be safely floated on and off as cargo. Dockwise is considered the global leader in maritime transports of extremely large and heavy cargoes. Dockwise Yacht Transport LLC (DYT), which also operates four other semi-submersible yacht carriers, is based in Fort Lauderdale, USA.

DYT Launches Super Ship

Dockwise Yacht Transport (DYT), the world's only float-on/float-off yacht transport service, has launched its newest ship, which will provide yacht owners with faster and more frequent delivery of their luxury power and sailing yachts across the Atlantic Ocean. The 685.7-ft. (209 m) Yacht Express, built at the Yantai Raffles Shipyard in China, has an official delivery date of May, 2007. It will be the largest vessel of its kind in the world, purpose-built with a semi-submersible dock bay that allows yachts of any size to be safely floated on and off as cargo. Yacht Express will join four other dedicated yacht carriers, all semi-submersible, in the existing liner service of DYT.
