GES Closes Rotterdam Terminal Deal

Global Energy Storage (GES) announced it has closed the transaction to acquire part of the Stargate Terminal from Gunvor Group in Europoort, Port of Rotterdam.GES, which signed a binding agreement to take over the site in November 2021, now owns four Class 1 product tanks totaling over 212 thousand cubic meters with long-term off-take from Gunvor. Gunvor Sells Its Rotterdam Oil Terminal to GES

Global Energy Storage, a new company that aims to store products such as hydrogen and biofuels, said on Thursday it is buying assets in Rotterdam from commodities firm Gunvor Group and will redevelop 20 hectares (49 acres) of land in the port for its operations.Financial details of the purchase, which includes part of Gunvor's Stargate Oil Terminal, were not disclosed.The company's plan is to "take an existing oil terminal and develop it into a state-of-the-art low-carbon products terminal…

Gunvor Halts Refinery Upgrade for New Shipping Fuels

Global energy trader Gunvor Group has put on hold plans to upgrade its Rotterdam refinery that intended to make the plant more competitive ahead of new global rules on shipping fuel quality, it said on Tuesday, citing market conditions.Global oil and shipping companies are looking at options to cope with the new standards that come into effect in 2020.The U.N. Port of Stockton Selects Tideworks TOS

Tideworks Technology, Inc., a provider of full-service terminal management and planning software solutions, announced that California’s Port of Stockton will deploy Tideworks Technology’s terminal operating system (TOS) to manage its container-on-barge operation and improve overall operational efficiency. Port of Stockton’s implementation of Tideworks’ TOS is part of the M-580 Marine Highway, a federally funded project aimed at moving ocean shipping containers by barge instead of truck between Oakland and the Central Valley in California.

Autoship Systems, per its partnership with Stargate, an ISP/ASP provider, has developed jointly a web site whereby their loading planning software, LPS, can be used remotely. Utilizing thin client technology, Autoship can now enable internationally located clients to work with LPS without actually implementing the software on their personal computers. Remote access through the Internet allows users to run deploy LPS using any available computer with Internet connection. In addition, the thin client technology allows multiple users to run the same instance of LPS concurrently. ExxonMobil Marine Fuels (EMMF) will begin trading marine fuels on the Internet and has signed the first of several agreements with an e-commerce portal.
