BAE System Wins Ship Repair Navy Contract

BAE Systems Jacksonville Ship Repair LLC, Jacksonville, Florida, is being awarded a $9,613,062 firm-fixed-price contract for dry-dock selected restricted availability repair work onboard USS Philippine Sea (CG 58). The work consists of dry-docking, structural and tank repairs, propulsion system repairs, ventilation and auxiliary system repairs, temporary services, habitability preservations, structural preservations, ship alterations and miscellaneous repairs. This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $71,892,174. Work will be performed in Jacksonville, Florida, and is expected to be completed by March 2019.

BAE Systems Awarded Two Navy Contract Modifications

1. BAE Systems Southeast Shipyards Mayport, Jacksonville, Florida, is being awarded an $54,698,937 modification to a previously awarded contract (N00024-10-C-4406) for a Docking Selected Restricted Availability to include structural work and extensive repairs and maintenance onboard USS Gettysburg (CG-64). This availability includes hull, machinery, electrical, electronics, ship alterations, and piping alteration and repair work. Work will be performed in Jacksonville, Florida, and is expected to be completed by April 2015. Fiscal 2014 operations and maintenance (Navy) funding in the amount of $32,914,644 will be obligated at time of award. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

NASSCO to Drydock, Upgrade USS Tornado

US Department of Defense inform it has awarded a $19,802,857 firm-fixed-price contract to Earl Industries, LLC, doing business as General Dynamics NASSCO Mayport, Jacksonville, Florida, for docking phased maintenance availability to include drydocking, hull plating replacement, propulsion engine removal and habitability work onboard 'USS Tornado' (PC 14). The docking phased maintenance availability work on USS Tornado consists of 55 percent hull structure repairs, 16 percent propulsion repairs, 11 percent paint/decking and preservation, and 8 percent auxiliary pumps and systems. The remaining 10 percent miscellaneous repairs consist of temporary services, electrical and electronic repairs. DoD adds that the basic work package consists of 89 work items.

BAE Systems Awarded USS Carney Repair Contract Modification

The US Department of Defense informs that a  US$9,270,465 Navy contract modification has been awarded to BAE Systems Mayport, Jacksonville, Florida, for ship repairs, hull, machinery, electrical, electronics, ship alterations, and piping alteration as required on USS Carney (DDG-64).  The primary focus of this repair package is to accomplish structural repairs and habitability upgrades. Work will be performed in Jacksonville, Florida, and is expected to be completed by September 2014. Contract funds in the amount of $9,215,334 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Southeast Regional Maintenance Center Jacksonville, Florida, is the contracting activity.

Latest DoD Contracts

Contracts have been awarded by the U.S. Department of Defense to Great Lakes Dredge & Dock, NASSCO-Mayport, Timken Gears & Services Inc., and Colonna's Shipyard, Inc. Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co., Oak Brook, Illinois, was awarded a $25,376,872 firm-fixed-price contract for dredging the main channel of the Delaware River. Work will be performed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with an estimated completion date of March 31, 2015. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is the contracting activity. Earl Industries L.L.C. doing business as NASSCO-Mayport, Jacksonville, Florida, is being awarded a not-to-exceed $23,238,392 undefinitized contract action for continuous maintenance availability to include structural damage and aluminum welding onboard USS Hue City (CG 66).

Navy Modifies BAE Contract for Dry Dock, Ship Alterations

BAE Systems is being awarded a $22,130,130 modification to previously awarded contract (N40024-10-C-4406) to perform dry dock, ship alterations, maintenance and repair work for the Docking Selected Restricted Availability (DSRA) of USS Carney (DDG-64). This DSRA will include a dry docking, hull, machinery, electrical, electronics, ship alterations, piping alteration, and repair work. The primary ship alterations being performed during this DSRA include Ballistic Missile Defense System upgrade, Vertical Launch System Ventilation upgrade, and the bow strengthening modification. Extensive coordination will be required in support of the dry dock evolution and the numerous alterations and repairs planned for accomplishment during this DSRA.

BAE Systems Wins Navy Contract

BAE Systems Mayport, L.L.C., Jacksonville, Fla., is being awarded a $13,456,971 firm-fixed-price contract for repair work aboard the USS Samuel B. Roberts (FFG 58). This contract is for the USS Samuel B. Roberts (FFG 58) drydock selected  restricted availability, including drydock and topside maintenance repair work.Extensive coordination is required for the drydock evolution, in addition to the numerous systems onboard to be repaired. This contract includes options,  which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $16,248,342. Work will be performed in Jacksonville, Fla., and is expected to be completed by May 2012.Contract funds in the amount of $13,456.971 will expire at  the end of the current fiscal year.

BAE Systems Mayport, Jacksonville, Fla., is being awarded a $13,315,732 modification to contract (N40024-10-C-4406) for USS Philippine Sea (CG-58) selected restricted availability. The selected restricted availability includes dry dock, hull, machinery, electrical, electronics, ship alterations, and piping repair work. Work will be performed in Jacksonville, Fla., and is expected to be completed by June 2012. Contract funds in the amount of $13,315,732 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. New Navy Contract

Atlantic Marine Mayport, LLC, Jacksonville, Fla., is being awarded a $37,035,816 firm-fixed-price contract to perform drydock, ship alterations, and maintenance and repair work for the extended drydock selected restricted availability of the USS Philippine Sea (CG 58). This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $42,476,685. Work will be performed in the Jacksonville, Fla., area and is expected to be completed by Dec. 22, 2009. Contract funds in the amount of $42,476,685 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with six proposals solicited and two offers received via the Federal Business Opportunities website.

This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $8,850,369. Work will be performed in Jacksonville, Fla., and is expected to be completed by July 2009. Contract funds in the amount of $7,239,077 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

Earl Industries Awarded $15.3m Contract

Earl Industries, LLC, Jacksonville, Fla., is being awarded a $15.3m contract to perform work associated with the decommissioning availability for the USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67) to complete the inactivation repair work which includes deactivation of various installed machinery such as pumps, catapult system, elevator, ships service diesel generators, and the boat and aircraft crane; and draining of fluids from installed systems such as cooling water, Aqueous Film Forming Foam firefighting agent, lube oil and fuel oil.Work will be performed aboard the ship at Naval Station Mayport and is expected to be completed by Aug. 2007.Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
