PXGEO Names Tony Bowman CEO

Offshore seismic survey firm PXGEO announced it has appointed Tony Bowman as chief executive officer, effective April 3, 2023.Bowman joins PXGEO from an executive career at Schlumberger. During his almost 30-year tenure, he held a number of senior roles across multiple geographical locations, including president, WesternGeco as well as president, Schlumberger Information Solutions.Bowman’s appointment follows the departure of CEO Duncan Eley, who has decided to resign and leave PXGEO.

Polarcus Announces Further Job Cuts

Marine geophysical company Polarcus announced it will implement further measures to cut costs, including additional headcount reductions and changes to the executive management team. The expanded cost reductions are part of a longer term plan that aims to help Polarcus withstand a prolonged difficult market as well as to take advantage of opportunities in this volatile environment, the company explained. As part of the cost management program implemented at the end of 2014, personnel reductions now total 26 percent.

Following the transaction he owns 434,880 shares. -    Hege Sjo, board member, has on 07 October 2014 acquired 111,429 shares at a price of NOK 1.40 per share. Following the transaction she owns 461,309 shares. -    Tore Karlsson, board member, has on 07 October 2014, through his wholly owned company Kepelia Enterprises Company Limited, acquired 100,000 shares at a price of NOK 1.40 per share. Following the transaction he owns 605,814 shares.

Polarcus to Build Seismic Vessels at Ulstein

Polarcus, a provider of marine geophysical services, is building two seismic vessels of the new generation type SX134 at the Ulstein Verft shipyard. ULSTEIN has designed and built a number of state-of-the-art seismic vessels the past few years, and the contracts attest to the company's leading role in designing and building seismic ships. Polarcus is a shipowner committed to innovation and the environment, and is currently building up a fleet of the most modern and advanced seismic vessels in the world.

Eastern Echo Builds Seismic Ships

The newly formed, Dubai-based shipping company Eastern Echo is building four ships of the Ulstein SX124 design. These will be the first seismic vessels of Ulstein design and will be built with the Ulstein X-BOW. In total, five shipowners have chosen this new bow concept. ”Ulstein Design is a young ship design company that has gained much interest worldwide. The contracts with Eastern Echo are important for Ulstein Design, as their portfolio also will cover the seismic area. The engineering department of Ulstein Verft are busy in the development of the project, and for Ulstein Elektro these contracts are all-time highest. The international focus in Ulstein Design is thus important for the Ulstein Group in total, says deputy CEO, Tore Ulstein.
