Yinson Production officially named its latest addition to the fleet, FPSO Atlanta, during a naming ceremony held at Dubai Drydocks World on December 13, 2023.FPSO Atlanta has a production capacity of 50,000 BOPD and a maximum storage capacity of 1,251,000 bbls. Enauta's Atlanta FPSO to Be Operated Under ABS Class

The FPSO Atlanta, contracted by the Brazilian oil company Enauta to Malaysia's Yinson for conversion to service the Atlanta Field offshore Brazil, will be operated under ABS Class.The Atlanta, which will serve as the Definity Production System at the Atlanta Field in the Santos Basin, offshore Brazil, is being converted in Dubai Drydocks World, including structural upgrades, refurbishment and enhancement of equipment, will have a production capacity of 50,000 BOPD, 12.4 MMscfd gas and a storage capacity of 1,800,000 bbl.

Harland & Wolff Names General Manager for Appledore site

Belfast-based shipyard Harland & Wolff has appointed a new General Manager, Tom Hart to its Appledore site.Harland & Wolff, famous for building the Titanic, is today a multisite fabrication company, operating in the maritime and offshore industry through five sectors: commercial, cruise and ferry, defense, oil & gas, and renewables and six services: technical services, fabrication and construction, decommissioning, repair and maintenance, in-service support and conversion.Hart joins Harland & Wolff (Appledore) from Dubai-based Drydocks World where he was Director of Projects & Engineering.

Drydocks Starts Work on Jotun FPSO TMS

Dubai's Drydocks World has begun work on a part of a turret mooring system for Jotun FPSO, for Bluewater Energy, with the end client being Var Energi in Norway.Namely, Drydocks said Wednesday it had held a steel-cutting ceremony to mark the start of production of the turntable project for the FPSO.According to the company, this turntable is part of a Turret Mooring System (TMS) for the Jotun A FPSO, which will be permanently moored and operated at the Balder field in the Norwegian Sector of the North Sea.The turntable is 24 meters in diameter and 10 meters high, weighing around 925 tons.

Drydocks World Cuts First Steel For Dutch Wind Farm Substation

Dubai's Drydocks World shipyard has cut first steel for the HVAC Transformer Station Topside, named Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) Beta.This is the third such unit that Drydocks World will be constructing for Petrofac and end-client TenneT, and the second project for the HKZ offshore wind farm, as it is also building the Alpha HVAC substation.The HVAC platform will form part of a renewable energy wind farm, located in the HKZ grid connection in the Dutch sector of the North Sea. Drydocks World Starts Bokalift 2 Conversion for Boskalis

Dubai's Drydocks World shipyard has started construction of the offshore wind installation vessel for the Dutch company Boskalis.Drydocks World held a steel-cutting ceremony on Monday to mark the start of production on a conversion project for Boskalis B.V.The shipyard will convert the drillship YAN into an offshore installation vessel named Bokalift 2. Production Floaters Orders Are on the Rebound

Fifteen production floaters were contracted in 2017 ā€“ 11 FPSOs, two production semis, a wellhead TLP and an FLNG ā€“ and the number of deep water projects in the near-term planning queue indicates production floater orders are set to accelerate. This is a big change from 2016 when orders for new units totally dried up and the deepwater future looked pretty bleak. Hereā€™s a round-up of contracts awarded last year and in January 2018. ROG Ship Repair Completes FPSO Moonpool Project

Hollandā€™s ROG Ship Repair said it has come to the aid of a Floating Production & Storage Offshore (FPSO) vessel ran into problematic weather conditions while being towed from Europe to the Middle East. Having recently been assigned a new contract, the 89,184 dwt, 248.1 m long FPSO Aoka Mizu (Japanese for Bluewater), owned and operated by Hollandā€™s Bluewater Energy Services, will be utilized for the early production system (EPS) phase of the development on Hurricaneā€™s offshore field in the North Sea.

Topaz Announces Leadership Changes

Jay Daga has been named Chief Financial Officer of Topaz Energy and Marine, an international offshore support vessel owner with operations in the Middle East, Caspian and West Africa. Daga will take his position with immediate effect, having been with Topaz for 15 years in a number of finance positions, most recently as Deputy CFO. Topaz noted that Daga led its two latest capital raising initiatives being the companyā€™s $350 million corporate bond issue in 2013 and its recent $75 million equity injection by Standard Chartered Private Equity. Topaz also confirmed the departure of Chief Operating Officer, Roy Donaldson, who joined Topaz in 2005. Geoff Taylor will act as interim COO while the search for a successor is underway.

Five vessels of Smit Lamnalco, the global marine service provider, played the key role in the unberthing and float-over of the world's largest high voltage direct current (HVDC) platform, DolWin beta, at Drydocks World - Dubai. The five escort tugs, with more than a combined 450 metric tons bollard pull power, provided marine support not only during the unberthing process but also in the 24-mile tow offshore and its float over on to the heavy transport vessel, Dockwise owned and operated, Mighty Servant 1.

Offshore Floating Production Market Update

Currently, 320 oil/gas floating production units are now in service, on order or available for reuse on another field. FPSOs account for 65% of the existing systems, 76% of systems on order. Production semis, barges, spars and TLPs comprise the balance. Total oil/gas inventory is down two units since last month ā€“ two off-field FPSOs have been scrapped. Another 27 floating LNG processing systems are in service or on order. Liquefaction floaters account for 15%, regasification floaters 85%. No liquefaction floaters are yet in service ā€“ all four are on order.

Fairmount Tows Naga 3 Jack-up to Oilfield

Tug Fairmount Expedition has towed jack-up rig Naga 3 from the PV Marine Shipyard in Vung Tau, Vietnam, to the RD-19X Block 15-2 oilfield offshore Vietnam. Last month the tug has towed the rig from Singapore to the shipyard, after which the Fairmount Expedition remained anchored off Vung Tau. The Naga 3 is a Gusto MSC CJ46-X100-D design jack-up rig, built in 2010 by Dubai Drydocks World and owned by UMW Petropipe/Singapore Drilling. The 70 meters long rig can drill up to 9,144 meters in depth.

Fairmount Tows Jack-up Rig to Vietnam

Tug Fairmount Expedition has towed jack-up rig Naga 3 safely from Labuan, Malaysia, to the PV Marine Shipyard in Vung Tau, Vietnam. The Fairmount Expedition was mobilized from Singapore for this 575 miles voyage. During the voyage the Fairmount Expedition only made use of two of her four main engines. The Naga 3 is a Gusto MSC CJ46-X100-D design jack-up rig, built in 2010 by Dubai Drydocks World and owned by UMW Petropipe/Singapore Drilling. The 70 meters long rig can drill up to 9,144 meters in depth.

Viking Strengthens Partnership with Lobby Marine Veteran

Viking Offshore & Marine Limited has announced it would participate in the ownership of a second cantilever drilling jack-up rig, further strengthening its partnership with Singapore rig veteran, Chan Kwan Bian as it accelerates its entry into mainstream offshore rig chartering. SGX Catalist-listed Viking said its wholly-owned Viking Asset Management Pte. Ltd. (VAM) will invest US$5.4 million to take a 30%-stake in Quick Booms Investments Limited (ā€œQBIā€), a special purpose vehicle controlled by Chan which has a contract with a yard to build the CJ46-X100-D GustoMSC designed for use in water depth up to 375 feet and can accommodate 120 men during operation.

Platinum Yacht Repair, the yacht repair and maintenance arm of Dubai's Drydocks World & Maritime World, say they have converted the landing craft Al Hail 1, belonging to Dubai-based M/S Royal Yachts from naval to civilan use as floating yacht repair and maintenance facility. Geoff joins the company following a period as an independent marine consultant. Prior to this he enjoyed a career spanning twenty seven years with Dubai Drydocks and Drydocks World. After holding a number of managerial positions he became Technical Director of Dubai Drydocks in 1999, CEO in 2004 and Group CEO in 2007. Drydocks World said that construction has begun on DolWin beta, the worldā€™s largest Wind Power HVDC Offshore Platform for Aibel AS, a leading service company that works within the oil, gas and renewable energy sectors. A steel cutting ceremony was organized to mark the occasion. H.H.
