Glamox CEO Transition Set for 2022

Glamox said that Rune Marthinussen,CEO & President, plans to retire from the company next year, and that the Board of Directors has appointed Astrid Simonsen Joos to succeed him as CEO. The change takes effect August 1, 2022, and Marthinussen has agreed to support Astrid full time until December 31, 2022. Astrid Simonsen Joos most recently served as Global Chief Digital Officer and Head of Transformation of Signify (previously Philips Lighting). She has throughout her career had roles in the software industry and within digital business developments through numerous management positions at Microsoft and the position as CEO of a digital agency (Creuna). Astrid Simonsen Joos also currently serves on the boards of Telenor and Nordea Invest.

Kongsberg: Blazing a Digital Trail

Tero Marine Names Staubo VP of Sales

Erik Sarmento Staubo has been promoted to vice president of sales at Norwegian software company Tero Marine, assuming the role from February 1. Staubo has for the last 1.5 years filled the position of regional director in Tero Marine, based at the company’s Oslo office. He will now share his time between the offices in Bergen and Oslo, overseeing that the company meets its goals for the next years: Increase the market share not only in Norway, but also in other shipping markets in Northern Europe, Asia and the Americas. Staubo holds a MSc Degree in Business Economics, specializing in shipping.

Edoc Systems Remains Healthy in Sour Economy

For Victoria marine enterprise software developers Edoc Systems Group, the past years economic storm has been more about riding calm winds and following seas. They are expanding and hiring while others in the software industry have been retrenching and shedding staff. Edoc moved into their current location in the heritage Hartwig Court two years ago and have already outgrown the current space. On the strength of new business, they are in the last stages of hiring additional software developers to join the team of 18 Victoria and Vancouver based existing staff. In the past month, they have hired a new marketing and communications coordinator, and are in the process of renovating additional space, taking over an adjacent 600 sq ft store-front.

Karlstad Named Director of Sales at SIS

Star Information Systems (SIS), a world provider of integrated fleet management software, has appointed Martin Karlstad as the new Director of Sales of SIS Oslo, effective immediately. In this role, Martin will be responsible for the company’s marketing and sales strategy. Martin will also play a leadership role in SIS’s strategic direction and sales practices. Martin brings over a decade of experience in specialized software for shipping and internet technology with companies such as KPNQWEST, ShipNet, and SpecTec (now Xantic). At the beginning of his career, Martin gained solid experience within international sales and market analysis while working as a broker for Sea Service International and market analyst with the US shipowner, Lexmar, Norway.

Lloyd’s Register and Resurgence Software Partner Up

Lloyd’s Register and Resurgence Software have partnered up, giving Lloyd’s Register rights to jointly market Resurgence Software’s industry leading equipment reliability analysis software system Wave. Wave is a ship equipment reliability analysis software tool that helps ship owners and operators better manage their fleets. It aims to increase revenue through optimization of reliability-related maintenance practice and reliability-related downtime losses. It provides users with critical equipment reliability information to make better decisions when setting maintenance policies and practices, and making repair vs. replace and equipment procurement decisions. Lloyd’s Register plans to make Wave a key part of its risk and reliability offering to the marine industry.

Telaurus Expands Technical Support Team

Communications LLC has appointed John Julian to the newly created position of Project Development Manager and Ewan Robinson as Technical Sales Support Manager. Both John and Ewan join the company direct from Easylink Services (UK) Ltd where they held similar positions, and were instrumental in supporting Easylink's STSW in ship-to-shore communication service. They join Telaurus as the Company moves into the next phase of its international growth, having recently opened a Global Sales & Marketing Office in Bristol, UK.
