Anadarko Signs LNG Supply Deal with JERA, CPC

US hydrocarbon exploration company Anadarko has signed a Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Japanese power company JERA and Taiwanese oil and gas company CPC.The SPA calls for the delivered ex-ship supply of 1.6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) for a base term of 17 years from the commercial start date. Anadarko, Bharat Petroleum Sign LNG Deal

American petroleum and natural gas exploration and production company Anadarko, on behalf of the Mozambique Area 1 partners, signed a deal with Bharat Gas Resources (BGR) for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) volumes from the Mozambique LNG development.The sale and purchase agreement (SPA) is for 1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) for a term of 15 years. BGR is a wholly owned subsidiary of Government of India controlled  oil and gas giant Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. Anadarko Sells LNG to CNOOC

U.S. oil giant Anadarko Petroleum said it has signed a deal with one of China’s biggest importers to supply 1.5 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) a year from Mozambique for a period of 13 years.The contract, signed by Anadarko and China’s GNOOC Gas and Power Singapore Trading & Marketing, gives China’s biggest liquefied natural gas importer access to world-class gas resources from Mozambique LNG, Mitch Ingram, executive vice president of Anadarko’s International, Deepwater and Exploration division, said."Mozambique LNG is extremely pleased to have CNOOC onboard as one of our foundation customers," added Ingram. NOIA Appoints Four to BoD

National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) Chairman David Welch has appointed four new members to the association’s Board of Directors. The appointments were announced today during NOIA’s fall meeting in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where the association is commemorating 45 years of commitment to America’s offshore energy industry. Bear Head LNG Plans Initial Phase of 8 MTPA

Liquefied Natural Gas Limited informed that on 31st October 2014, its wholly owned company Bear Head LNG Corporation, filed for modifications to the existing construction and environmental permits granted by the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board and Nova Scotia Environment. “This is a major step in adapting Bear Head LNG’s 12 existing construction and environmental permits to an export project. These key regulatory filings help maintain our accelerated pace in executing the project development plan,” says John Godbold, Bear Head LNG Chief Operating Officer and Project Director. In addition, Bear Head LNG is announcing expansion of the initial facility production capacity to 8 million tonnes per annum (mtpa), doubling the 4 mtpa previously announced.

LNG Finalizes Acquisition of Bear Head LNG Project

Liquefied Natural Gas Limited today informed having finalised the acquisition of 100% of Bear Head LNG Corporation (BHLC). McDermott Awarded Anadarko GoM Contract

McDermott International, Inc. says that one of its subsidiaries has entered into an agreement with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation to provide construction and decommissioning support services employing Derrick Barge 50 (“DB50”) on the Red Hawk project, located in Garden Banks 876. The DB50 will remove mooring lines for the Red Hawk spar and provide accommodation and decommissioning support services. Mobilization is expected during the third quarter 2014. “This project is yet another example of our efforts to improve asset utilization beyond the requirements of our existing backlog,” said Dominic Savarino, Vice President and General Manager, Americas. The DB50 is a dynamically positioned (DP2) premier heavy-lift vessel with deepwater lowering capabilities that can accommodate 320 personnel.

Private Equity Firms Double down on Venari's Offshore Drilling

Gulf of Mexico deepwater oil explorer Venari Resources LLC said on Wednesday it had raised $1.3 billion from original backers Warburg Pincus LLC, Kelso & Co, the Jordan Company and Temasek Holdings, as well as new investors. GIC, Singapore's sovereign wealth fund, and BlackRock Inc's private equity arm participated in the new round of equity commitments, joining private equity firms Warburg Pincus, Kelso and Jordan, as well as Singapore state-owned investment firm Temasek. The four original investors formed Venari in 2012 with $1.1 billion in equity commitments. The new funds will be used to help develop assets Venari has discovered since 2012, as well as bolster the company's exploration program, Venari Chief Executive Brian Reinsborough said in an interview.

LNG to Acquire Bear Head LNG Project in Canada for US$11 mi

Liquefied Natural Gas Limited today announced that it has significantly expanded its presence in the North American Liquefied NaturalGas (LNG) sector by signing an agreement to acquire 100% of Bear Head LNG Corporation (BHLC)from a subsidiary of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (Anadarko) for US$11.0 million. A 255-acre site comprising industrial-zoned land (180 acres) and deep-water acreage (75 acres) as well as foundations in place for two 180,000 cubic meter LNG tanks. The land has been cleared, a majority of site works completed and roads constructed. The Project Rights of the previously proposed LNG import terminal, including all assets, rights and obligations associated with the Bear Head project.

Wood Group Kenny (WGK) has been awarded an engineering services contract to support Tullow Ghana Limited and its partners through the execution phase of the Tweneboa, Enyenra and Ntomme (TEN) project, offshore Ghana. Anadarko Petroleum Corporation awarded a contract to BMT Scientific Marine Services Inc (BMT) to provide an Environmental and Platform Response Monitoring System (EPRMS) and an Independent Remote Monitoring System (IRMS) for the Heidelberg spar in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The EPRMS monitors, logs and displays data in real-time to provide operational support functionality and archives data for assessing the facility’s integrity over time. The EPRMS for Heidelberg is comprised of a computer console, remote sensor packages, data acquisition software and custom operator displays.

The Boskalis subsidiary, Dockwise vessel 'Mighty Servant 1' has offloaded the 23,000 ton spar for the Lucius deepwater oil and natural gas project in the Gulf of Mexico. The Lucius truss spar, measuring 184 meters (605 feet) long and 34 meters (110 feet) in diameter, was loaded onto the Mighty Servant 1 by means of skid on operation at Pori, Finland. Six Mile Deep GoM Oil Strike

Chevron Corporation has announced an oil discovery at the Coronado prospect in the deepwater U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The Walker Ridge Block 98 Well No. 1 encountered more than 400 feet (122 m) of net pay. The well is located approximately 190 miles (308 km) off the Louisiana coast in 6,127 feet (1,868 m) of water and was drilled to a depth of 31,866 feet (9,713 m). The well results are still being evaluated, and additional work is needed to determine the extent of the resource. Chevron, with a 40 percent working interest in the prospect, is the operator of the Coronado discovery well.

Technip Awarded Subsea Contract for the Gulf of Mexico

Technip was awarded a lump sum contract by Anadarko Petroleum Corporation for the development of  the Lucius field, located in the Keathley Canyon area of the Gulf of Mexico, at a water depth of approximately 7,000 feet (2,130 meters). The contract covers installation of a flexible flow line, multiple flexible gas lift jumpers; main gas lift and infield umbilicals; subsea distribution units; electrical, fiber optic and hydraulic flying leads; • design and fabrication of the flexible flowline end termination; fabrication and installation of rigid jumpers; • burial of flow lines; • flooding and hydro-testing of the flowline system. Technip's operating center in Houston, Texas, will perform the overall project management.

GOM Deepwater Operator Joins MPA

Anadarko Petroleum Corporation has signed agreements with the Marine Preservation Association (MPA) and the Marine Spill Response Corporation (MSRC) to access MSRC’s national and Gulf of Mexico-based dedicated spill response resources for plan citation and spill response services. Anadarko joins other MPA founding members BP, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, Murphy, and Shell; and newer members Nexen, Noble, and Statoil, in funding the most extensive surface spill response capability in the Gulf of Mexico. MSRC has just completed a large expansion of its resources and capability in the Gulf of Mexico, with particular focus on the deepwater.

FMC Awarded Andarko Subsea Contract

FMC Technologies Awarded Subsea Systems Contract from Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. FMC Technologies, Inc. announced that it has signed an agreement with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: APC) to provide subsea systems and life-of-field services for its Lucius project. The Lucius field is located approximately 275 miles southeast of Galveston in Keathley Canyon Block 875, in water depths of approximately 7,100 feet (2,160 meters). FMC’s scope of supply includes five subsea production trees and two manifolds. The equipment will be supplied from the Company’s operation in Houston and deliveries are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2012.

Technip Wins Lump Sum GOM Contract

Technip was awarded a lump sum contract by Anadarko Petroleum Corporation for the engineering, construction and transport of a 23,000 ton truss Spar hull for their Lucius project in approximately 7,100 feet (2,165 meters) of water depth in the US Gulf of Mexico, with first oil being scheduled in 2014. Lucius will be the seventh Spar Technip has delivered to Anadarko.The Lucius truss Spar floating production facility will have a nameplate capacity of 80,000 barrels of  oil per day and 450 million cu. ft. of natural gas per day. Technip’s operating center in Houston, Texas, will provide the overall project management. The detailed hull design and fabrication will be carried out by Technip’s yard in Pori, Finland.

Kosmos Energy Update on Drilling Cedrela-1 Exploration Well

Kosmos Energy KOS 0.00% today provided an update on the company's drilling of the Cedrela-1 exploration well offshore the Republic of Ghana. The "Transocean Marianas" semi-submersible drilling rig, under contract to another operator in Ghana, was expected to arrive at the Cedrela-1 well location on the West Cape Three Points Block on or about July 10 to commence drilling Kosmos' Cedrela-1 well near the block's southern boundary. The rig was rendered temporarily inoperable following a reported anchor-handling incident on the Offshore Cape Three Points Block, which is east of the Kosmos-operated West Cape Three Points Block. The incident occurred while preparations were being made to move the rig from the other operator's block to the Cedrela-1 well location.

Diamond Offshore Drilling, Two New-Build Drillships

Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc. (NYSE:DO) today announced that a subsidiary of the company has entered into two term drilling contracts with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. The contracts, which will utilize Diamond Offshore's two new-build drillships now on order, are expected to generate combined maximum total revenue of approximately $1.8 billion and represent 10 years of contract drilling backlog. In addition, Anadarko and Diamond have mutually agreed to dismiss all claims related to the Ocean Monarch.

New Discovery in GOM, Vito Appraisal

Statoil USA E&P Inc. announced that the Shell operated Vito appraisal well in deep water Gulf of Mexico has encountered more than 600 net feet of high-quality oil pay in thick subsalt Miocene sands. This sidetrack appraisal well, which is located in Mississippi Canyon block 940, is more than one mile from the 2009 Vito discovery well. Statoil holds a 25% working interest in the block. “The Vito oil discovery is located in an area of good reservoir development within the Miocene play. In addition to our participation in other large discoveries in this play, Statoil plans to test several new Miocene exploration opportunities through its current operated drilling campaign,” said Helen Butcher, head of Gulf of Mexico Exploration.

First 20k PSI Subsea Wellhead System

FMC Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: FTI) has signed a contract for the manufacture and supply of FMC's proprietary HC-20 high capacity subsea wellhead system, the oil and gas industry's first subsea wellhead system to be rated and qualified at 20,000 pounds per square inch (psi). In addition to operating at pressures as high as 20,000 psi, the equipment is engineered to perform at temperatures as high as 350 degrees Fahrenheit. The HC-20 enables the development of high-pressure wells and its enhanced load bearing capacity, in excess of nine million pounds, allows operators to drill deeper wells with heavier casing strings.
