Electric Boat Receives Submarine Deal

Electric Boat Corp., Groton, Conn., is being awarded a $30,117,674 cost-plus-fixed-fee modification to exercise an option under previously awarded contract (N00024-02-C-2901) for installation planning and manufacturing of long lead time material for the conversion of Ohio Class SSBN submarines to Ohio Class SSGN submarines. Work will be performed in Groton, Conn. (21 percent); Norfolk, Va. (19 percent); and Quonset, R.I. (60 percent), and is expected to be completed by March 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington Navy Yard, D.C., is the contracting activity.
