EMMF puts safety first

Exxon Mobil Marine Fuels (EMMF) has paid tribute to the vital contribution made to its flawless safety record by its staff and by a network of contractors throughout the world. EMMF is the world's largest supplier of marine fuels. It has a supply presence in over 300 ports in more than 70 countries, through which more than 15m tons of marine fuel are supplied annually. Last year it operated with an unblemished record - no fatalities, no lost time, no recordable incidents, no delivery vehicle accidents, no spills. Joe Rud, general manager of fleet purchasing, business development and e-commerce at EMMF, says, "We are very proud of our record. To perform over 18,000 individual truck and barge operations without incident, as EMMF did last year, confirms the high priority we place on safety.

ExxonMobil: Bunker demand will recover quickly

September 11 attacks on the United States, will soon recover. Prices are down too, as the price of a barrel of oil has fallen into the low twenty-dollar range. But EMMF has taken specific action to improve security and to maintain customer relationships, and believes that demand will soon recover. EMMF Enters Gulf Coast Barge Market

ExxonMobil Marine Fuels (EMMF) announced it is to offer a full range of marine fuels (HFO and MDO) for barge delivery in the ports of Beaumont, Port Neches, Port Arthur, Orange, and the Lake Charles area of the US Gulf Coast. This new service extends EMMF's previous USGC sales capability and improves its global supply network consistent with the efforts to meet the needs of its customers. Joe Rud, Manager of Marketing and Supply for EMMF, said: "This is good news for shipowners who wish to purchase high quality fuel in the US Gulf Coast region. It is also a good example of the combined strengths of ExxonMobil Refinery & Supply, EMMF and our barging partners coming together to expand product availability and services to customers."

Exxonmobil Signs Agreement

EXXONMOBIL Marine Fuels (EMMF), the world's largest supplier of marine fuels, has signed a supply agreement with NT Marine of Estonia, the biggest marine fuels trader in the region extending from Tallin in Estonia to St. Petersburg in Russia. The agreement initially covers St Petersburg and all the main ports in Estonia, including Tallin, Muuga, and Paldiski. to cover other ports, depending on industry developments in the region. EMMF will be supplying a full range of marine fuels products. And existing EMMF customers will be given priority in terms of fuel purchases in the region transacted through NT Marine, which is able to offer an in-line blending barge service to fuel purchasers.

ExxonMobil Has New Supply on Gulf Coast

ExxonMobil Marine Fuels (EMMF) has strengthened its presence in the Gulf region by securing an agreement to supply bunkers ex-pipe at the Sun Nederland Terminal near Beaumont,Texas. The new supply location will offer a full range of bunker products, comprising IFO 380, IFO 180 and MDO at the Sun Nederland terminal berths 1-4. The facility is primarily a crude storage and distribution terminal capable of handling barge traffic and vessels up to Aframax size. Joe Rud, general manager of fleet purchasing, business development and e-commerce at EMMF, says, "We are delighted to have strengthened our presence in this strategic area, particularly since many of the vessels going into the Sun Nederland terminal are under contract to ExxonMobil.

EMMF Says e-bunkering Needs People

ExxonMobil Marine Fuels says e-bunkering is here to stay. "But," says Joe Rud, vice-president, "People can adapt to the complex needs of bunkering better and more quickly than websites. E-commerce has now settled down to its correct place in the bunker business. But e-suppliers must always include a phone number which lets buyers talk to a real person." Rud was writing in the current issue of HorsePower, EMMF's newsletter. Also in this issue, Steve Walker, technical manager, outlines the practical consequences for shipping of upcoming EU legislation on sulfur contents in marine fuels. In the article, Walker lists both the costs, consequences and good news for shipowners and ships' engineers which stem from the caps on sulfur.
