DORIS Engenharia Ltda. Chooses Intergraph® SmartMarine® Enterprise Solutions for Brazilian FPSO Projects. SmartMarine 3D is being used in front-end engineering design phase, also specified for detail design.

DORIS Engenharia Ltda., the Brazilian subsidiary of France's DORIS Engineering and a specialist in the offshore oil and gas industry, has chosen Intergraph® SmartMarine® Enterprise solutions to design the topsides of eight floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) units for global energy leader Petrobras. The eight FPSOs will be used for pre-salt layer exploration. The project is considered the most important one in the Petrobras portfolio, as pre-salt layer drilling marks the beginning of a new exploratory model resistant both to corrosion and to high temperature and pressure. DORIS will use SmartMarine Enterprise solutions for the project's front-end engineering design (FEED), which is estimated to take one year. Petrobras will launch a new bid for detailed design, and SmartMarine Enterprise is the required product suite for all engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies competing for the work.

For the FEED phase, DORIS is using SmartMarine 3D, SmartPlant® P&ID, SmartPlant Electrical and SmartPlant Instrumentation. SISGRAPH, exclusive provider of Intergraph solutions in Brazil for more than 30 years, is working closely with DORIS to ensure its success. SISGRAPH recently was acquired by Hexagon, which also owns Intergraph. "DORIS Engenharia Ltda. is highly experienced in creating innovative and cost-effective solutions for the most challenging environments, including harsh, remote locations and very deep waters," said Pierrick Sauvage, engineering director of Doris Engenharia Ltda. "We are completely committed to building safety into the design of high-tech installations, such as FPSOs and offshore platforms. The rules-based capabilities of SmartMarine 3D and other Intergraph solutions will assist DORIS Engenharia Ltda. in providing safer, higher quality designs while gaining productivity."

Gerhard Sallinger, Intergraph Process, Power & Marine president, said, "DORIS Engenharia Ltda. is recognized as an expert in offshore oil and gas engineering. Its decision to use SmartMarine Enterprise, including SmartMarine 3D, is the latest by a marine industry leader that recognizes the safety, quality and productivity benefits Intergraph solutions can offer. "SmartMarine 3D is the world's most advanced offshore and shipbuilding design solution, providing companies with the capabilities they need to gain and maintain an edge in a highly competitive industry. SmartMarine 3D is breakthrough engineering technology that is data-centric, knowledge- and rule-driven, streamlining marine asset design processes and improving delivery schedules, with increased detail and manufacturing design productivity of up to 30 percent.

The ARC Advisory Group, a leading industry analyst firm, ranked Intergraph the No. 1 overall engineering design 3D software and process engineering tools (PET) provider worldwide according to its "PET Worldwide Outlook Market Analysis and Forecast through 2015.
