Keppel Offshore & Marine secures OSV Contracts

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M) has secured a total of S$172 million worth of contracts through its wholly owned subsidiaries, Keppel Singmarine Ltd and AMFELS in USA. Keppel Singmarine, a specialized shipbuilder, will build four Anchor Handling Tug/ Supply (AHTS) vessels for European based company, Groupe Bourbon and four harbor tugs for Keppel Smit Towage. Deliveries of the eight vessels are slated progressively between the third quarter of 2004 and first quarter 2006.

ENSCO Earns MMS Safety Award

ENSCO Offshore was awarded the U.S. Department of the Interior's Minerals Management Service 2000 Safety Award for Excellence in the drilling contractor category. The award was presented to ENSCO by Gale A. Norton, Secretary of the Interior. In addition to receiving the national award this year, ENSCO Offshore Company also received two regional awards for its Gulf of Mexico operations. The MMS Lafayette District awarded ENSCO the SAFE Award in the local district drilling contractor category, and the New Orleans District awarded ENSCO and Texaco, jointly, a SAFE award for the operation of ENSCO 25 on Texaco's Petronius platform. MarAd Approves Sale and Transfer of Vessels

The Maritime Administration (MarAd) has approved the sale and transfer of three vessels under Section 9 of the Shipping Act, of 1916, as amended. MarAd has approved an application filed by ENSCO Offshore Company, of Dallas, Texas, for the transfer of the mobile offshore drilling unit ENDCO 93 Official No. 651385, to the Republic of Liberia registry and flag, without change in ownership of said vessel. MarAd has approved an application filed by Flota Pesquera Omaira, a Venezuelan citizen, for the sale and transfer of two barges: the DIA-1, Official No. 552263 and the DIA-1A, Official No. 569949. The transfer of said vessels is to Venezuelan registry and flag.

ENSCO, RigNet Renew Contract

RigNet Inc., a privately held provider of managed communications services to the oil and gas industry, announced it has renewed its contract with ENSCO Offshore Company to provide voice and high-speed data services to ENSCO's fleet-wide drilling operations in the Gulf of Mexico. As part of this renewal, RigNet will now be the sole communications provider for ENSCO's Gulf of Mexico fleet, replacing Caprock Communications who had provided satellite communications. As part of the agreement with ENSCO, the RigNet communications solution will continue to be available on each of ENSCO's 19 rigs operating in this region. (Source: Houston Chronicle)

Keppel Offshore and Marine Units Win Contracts

Keppel Corporation Limited, through its offshore and marine units in Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has clinched contracts worth a total of $41 million from repeat customers. Three contracts over $28 million are for the upgrades of jack-up rig Ensco 81 and barge drilling unit Ensco 1 from Ensco Offshore Company (ENSCO), and swamp barge Maera from PT Apexindo Pratama Duta, an Indonesian drilling contractor. Another contract is for a new Anchor Handling Tug/Supply (AHTS) vessel for Pacific Richfield Marine Pte Ltd, owner and operator of offshore support vessels in the Asia and Pacific region. Tong Chong Heong, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Keppel O&M said, “Shipyards usually become involved in a job only after the design and engineering work is completed.

Keppel Offshore & Marine Awarded Contracts Worth $55M

Business units of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd have secured $55 million worth of contracts. Keppel Singmarine, the specialized shipbuilding division, will build three 60 tonne bollard pull Anchor Handling Tug/ Supply (AHTS) vessels, one for Hadi H. Al-Hammam Establishment (Hadi) from Saudi Arabia while the remaining two for Pacific Richfield Marine Pte Ltd (PRM), a Singapore-based customer. These vessels will be completed in the first quarter of 2004. Keppel Singmarine has delivered two AHTS vessels to Hadi in the last two years, and is currently building a 140-tonne bollard pull purpose-built AHTS vessel for PRM. This vessel is due for delivery in the last quarter of 2003.
