Ardent, Vernicos, EPE Partner

Ardent, Vernicos Tugs and Salvage, a Greek-based tug & salvage service provider and Environmental Protection Engineering (EPE) a Greek-based Oil Spill Response provider, have formally partnered for future operations within Eastern Mediterranean and the adjacent waters. The three companies signed a cooperation agreement on 20th March 2018 to closely work together on future opportunities and at the same time retain their own corporate identities. Ardent, announces the formation of a partnership with Vernicos Tugs and Environmental Protection Engineering S.A. (EPE). This cooperation strategically combines one of the world’s leading salvage, emergency response and wreck removal company with the largest provider of tugs and the largest pollution control expert in the region.

EPE S.A., First Greek GL Certified IHM Provider

Environmental Protection Engineering S.A.(EPE) has become the first Greek company to obtain certification from classification society Germanischer Lloyd. GL is a certified provider of Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM) services. EPE becomes one of only a handful of companies worldwide that are able to offer IHM in compliance with the Hong Kong International Convention for the safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships and the Guidelines for the Development of the Inventory of Hazardous Materials. EPE SA Wins Lebanese Contract, Oil Spill Cleanup

After several successful environmental projects in Lebanon, Environmental Protection Engineering S.A. (EPE SA ) recently won an international bid for offers and has been awarded a contract from the Higher Relief Commission of Lebanon (HRC) to provide oil spill cleanup services for the Lebanese coastline. The signature of the contract was held under the auspices of his Excellency Mohammad Rahal, Minister of Environment of Lebanon. Dr.Vassilios Mamaloukas-Frangoulis, Director of Marine Environment Protection Dept. represented EPE SA, whereas General Yehia Raad, Secretary General, signed on behalf of the HRC. Rahal highlighted the fact that the Lebanon oil spill cleanup project has reached its final phase with this project financed by a donation from the Norwegian Government.

EPE to Prep Hazmat Inventory for Ship Recycling

Environmental Protection Engineering S.A. (EPE) attends to prepare the Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM) for the entire Reederei Thomas Schulte fleet (33 container vessels) according to the new IMO Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships (Hong Kong Convention). Reederei Thomas Schulte GmbH & Co. KG also signed a contract with Germanischer Lloyd AG about the certification of the IHMs. The Ship Recycling Convention adopted at a Diplomatic Conference in Hong Kong (May 2009), aims to improve standards of safety and reduce environmental pollution from the recycling of ships.
