November 27, 2015

Evoqua Water Technologies and maritime solutions and logistics expert, Drew Marine, have announced a partnership to provide a full compliance package for ballast water management. The collaboration brings together Evoqua’s technology and Drew Marine’s engineering, logistics and service expertise to offer ship owners and operators expert assistance worldwide.

The partnership will centre around Evoqua’s industry-leading SeaCURE Ballast Water Management System (BWMS). Both parties will collaborate during the SeaCURE BWMS sales process for new build vessels and retrofit opportunities. Drew Marine will then be responsible for the retrofit engineering, design and installation management of the systems and will provide after sales service and lifetime compliance assurance in conjunction with Evoqua’s technology team.

The SeaCURE BWMS will ensure ship owners meet the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), US Coast Guard (USCG) and US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) regulations. In conjunction with the SeaCURE system, Drew Marine offers a service package that is unparalleled in the maritime industry. With a presence in over 900 ports worldwide, Drew Marine’s service and logistics network offers ship operators all analyses necessary to comply with the self-monitoring requirements of the EPA’s Vessel General Permit (VGP).

SeaCURE BWMS is an electrochlorination system based on the proven technology used in Evoqua’s Chloropac system, which, with over 40 years’ experience across the maritime industry, has established itself as a marine growth prevention system highly regarded for its performance, safety and reliability. The technology has received US patents both for its energy saving process design, based on ORP-control, as well as its process that safeguards the filter from marine growth.  The technology is well known for its operational reliability.

Matt Granitto, business manager for Evoqua’s ballast water business, commented: “Evoqua’s collaboration with Drew Marine will ensure ship owners and operators get an industry-leading service, helping to guarantee short response times and, ultimately, compliance with ballast water rules for the vessel’s lifetime.  It is of vital importance to us that our SeaCURE BWMS is backed up by the very best field service and support – combined with our technology know-how --  and Drew Marine will help us deliver this across the globe.”

Daniel Kelleher, senior vice president of marketing for Drew Marine, added: “Our relationship with a premier BWMS provider, such as Evoqua, affords Drew Marine the opportunity to continue to offer our customers solutions addressing their most pressing challenges.  We will deliver solutions consistent with our mantra – reliability, performance, compliance.”

Evoqua and Drew Marine will be holding an MOU signing at the Marintec exhibition in China on 2 December 2015, 14.00 at booth N3G61.
