Designees to The TechnipFMC Board Announced

Technip S.A. (Euronext: TEC) and FMC Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: FTI) today announced their respective designees to the Board of Directors of the combined company, TechnipFMC, effective at the close of the proposed combination. The Board of Directors of the combined company will comprise 14 directors, seven designated by FMC Technologies and seven designated by Technip as set forth below. FMC Technologies will appoint the initial Independent Lead Director, in accordance with the terms of the Business Combination Agreement. The Board of Directors will have four committees: Audit, Nominating and Governance, Compensation, and Strategy. Technip Awards EPIC Offshore Malaysia Contract from Petronas

French oilfield services provider Technip SA  said it has been awarded an engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning contract by PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd or PCSB for D18 Project. The project covers the procurement and installation of two 8” water injection flexible pipes totalling 9.5 kilometers. The flexible pipes will connect three fixed jacket platforms which form the existing D18 infrastructure offshore Sarawak, Malaysia, at a water depth of 36 meters. This contract is part of the 5-year Framework Agreement signed with PETRONAS in late 2014 and is in line with Technip strategy to strengthen its partnerships with its clients to drive cost optimization.

Samsung Heavy Venturing Overseas

SHI is ready to invest around $950 million in the overseas shipbuilding facility by 2017, according to SHI’s Chief Financial Officer Chun Tae Heung. Tankers, bulk ships and smaller container vessels might in the future be built in Malaysia, Indonesia or Vietnam, Chun said. SHI is trying to move the production of lower-margin vessels abroad in an effort to cut costs, while reserving domestic operations for building oil-exploration products and larger ships. The shift of attention towards overseas options is in line with the latest merger within the Samsung Group which was carried out to enable SHI to compete successfully with its European rivals Saipem SpA (SPM) and Technip SA. (TEC). ”We believe there will be demand for offshore oil and gas projects in the long term.

Harkand Appoints New CEO

Internatioanl subsea inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) group Harkand announced the appointment of John Reed as its new chief executive officer as it embarks on the next stage of its ambitious growth strategy. Reed, an industry veteran with more than 30 years’ experience in the offshore engineering and construction sector, will lead the development of the company as it drives forward with its target of growing turnover to $1 billion in the next five years. Due to take over the reins in October, he replaces Nicolas Mouté who steered the group’s formation since inception and through the merger of Iremis, Integrated Subsea Services (ISS) and Andrews Survey following investment by Oaktree Capital Management and the acquisition of Veolia Marine Services.

Acergy Gets $700m from Total for Angola Offshore Work

Acergy SA received a $700mcontract from Total SA for work on the development of Pazlor oil field offshore from Angola. Acergy said Wednesday it received the contract as part of a $1.8b award to a consortium with French oil services company Technip SA Acergy's portion of the project includes the engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of 55 kilometers of water-injection lines, gas-injection and gas-exports lines, umbilicals and more than 20 rigid jumpers among others tasks. The company said engineering will begin immediately; offshore installation is scheduled to begin in mid-2010. Acergy, a Sunbury-on-Thames, England, engineering and contruction contractor for the offshore oil and gas industry, had 2006 revenue of $2.12b.

FELS Setal Clinches $775M Contract

The consortium of FELS Setal SA, a subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M) in Brazil, and Technip Engenharia S/A (Technip), an affiliate of Technip S.A., has been awarded the P-52 contract from Petrobras Netherlands BV (PNBV). The signing ceremony of the US$775 million contract to build the semi-submersible production platform was witnessed by Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in the presence of more than 1000 guests at FELS Setal’s Brasfels Yard. Delivery of the floating production unit is due in 41 months for possible deployment in the Roncador field, a deepwater location of the Campos Basin, off the north coast of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The consortium of FELS Setal SA, a subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M) in Brazil, and Technip Engenharia S/A (Technip), an affiliate of Technip S.A., has been awarded the P-52 contract from Petrobras Netherlands BV (PNBV). Recently signed was a$775 million contract to build the semi-submersible production platform. Delivery of the floating production unit is due in 41 months for possible deployment in the Roncador field, a deepwater location of the Campos Basin, off the north coast of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The project involves the detailed engineering, procurement and construction of an 180,000 bpd semi-submersible production platform capable of operating in water depths up to 1,800 m.
