The first of a three-vessel order has recently been delivered to the Indian Navy by the Tebma Shipyard located on the Indian East Coast. Each tug is to be powered by a pair of V-12 cylinder Cummins KTA38M2 main engines each developing 1200 HP continuous duty at 1800 RPM. The 2400 HP tugs have a 25-ton bollard pull. Engines for the second vessel in the series have just been delivered to the shipyard. A photo of the first tug, named INS Bhim, is attached to this release. The designation INS that precedes the name denotes the vessel as Indian Naval Service.
