Datamodul´s daughter-company, CONRAC GmbH was awarded by Kelvin Hughes for the delivery of Type Approved TFT Displays in their new and future IBS Programs. Next to the superior performance and quality aspects, one of the main reasons for this decision was, the high level of own development integrated in the concerned TFT monitors. The result can be recognized in the Queen Mary 2 bridge. All TFT displays are delivered in an OEM Chassis-Only version, ready for integration in the special design of the bridge. During the late 1990's Kelvin Hughes realized that the availability of cathode ray tubes (CRTs) for use in bridge navigation displays, such as Radar and ECDIS, was becoming limited.

FPEF II Acquires Hatteland Display

Ferd Private Equity Fund II (FPEF II) has signed an agreement to acquire 90 % of the shares in Jakob Hatteland Display AS (Hatteland Display). FPEF II acquires in total 90% of the shares in the marine display and panel computer producer Hatteland Display, from Jakob Hatteland Holding and CEO Knut Vidar Lauritsen. Lauritsen will retain an ownership of 10% in the company. Hatteland Display, with headquarters and production in Nedre Vats, close to Haugesund in Norway, is a leading payer within development and production of type approved displays and panel computers. The products are used by system integrators and can be found on all vessel types, all over the world. The company has approx. 110 employees.

JHD Names New Managing Director

Jakob Hatteland Display (JHD) has named Tomm-Erik Johannessen, as managing director of its daughter company, Hatteland Technology. Johannessen, an IT professional with 15 years in the Royal Norwegian Air Force and managerial positions at high-profile Norwegian firms, including Scanmar AS, joined Hatteland Technology on 15th September 2006. As head of Hatteland Technology, Johannessen's responsibilities are focussed on expanding R&D for JHD's marine displays and computers.

Hatteland Display Awarded $1.2M Contract

Jakob Hatteland Display has been awarded a $1.2 M (9 million NOK) contract to supply TFT displays to CAE under a project providing for the systems replacement and upgrade of 12 Canadian Navy frigates. During the course of 2003, CAE will deliver the final product, which satisfies quality and reliability needs in extreme environments. According to Jakob Hatteland Display, the contract is a breakthrough for them in the marine market.
