Freeport LNG Unit Faces Month-long Outage

Sempra Reaches FID on Port Arthur LNG Plant's Phase 1

U.S. power and gas utility Sempra Energy said on Monday the first phase of its proposed Port Arthur liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal received the financial greenlight to move ahead with investment firm KKR & Co agreeing to a minority stake in the project.Though KKR's investment was not disclosed, an infrastructure fund managed by it will buy a 25% to 49% indirect, non-controlling interest in the project. Cheniere to Sell US LNG to China's Foran Group

Enestas Plans First Dual LNG Terminal in Mexico

Mexican liquefied natural gas (LNG) company Enestas is planning to build the first first dual LNG and liquid ethane port terminal in Mexico.The new facility is located on the Gulf Coast and unloads directly from vessels up to 22,000 m3 in size. The facility features an automated storage and unloading system. Subsequently, Enestas transports the cryogenic product to the customer's facility."Based on this success, the company is planning to build more LNG terminals along the Mexican coastlines to further promote and facilitate the use of LNG as a marine fuel and for domestic distribution," said the company.Enestas believes LNG is the most cost effective and ecological long-term solution for complying with the IMO 2020 sulfur cap.

QP Issues Tender for 4 Mega LNG Trains

Mitsubishi Christens Mitsui's LNG Newbuild

Mitsubishi Shipbuilding, a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries company based in Yokohama, christened Mitsui & Co.(MOL) liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier named Marvel Heron.The 297.5-meter-long vessel is Mitsubishi Shipbuilding's newest carrier that achieves significant improvements in both LNG carrying capacity and fuel performance through adoption of a more efficient hull structure and an innovative hybrid propulsion system.After completion scheduled in September, the Marvel Heron will go into service primarily transporting LNG for the Cameron LNG Project, in which Mitsui is a participating partner.The christening ceremony was held at the Koyagi Plant of MHI's Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works.

Qatargas Delivers LNG Cargo to Belgium

Qatargas Delivers First Q-Flex LNG Cargo

The world’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer Qatargas Operating Company Limited (Qatargas) has delivered the first LNG cargo onboard a Q-Flex vessel to Greece’s Revithoussa LNG terminal.Doha-based global energy operator said in a press release that  this is for the first time that a Q-Flex LNG vessel has called at the terminal ever since it underwent an expansion drive late last year.The cargo, which was loaded at the Ras Laffan Terminal in Qatar on 3rd July 2019, arrived at the Revithoussa Terminal on board the Q-Flex vessel, 'Al Gharrafa', on 20th July 2019.The Q-Flex cargo is part of yet another multi-port delivery executed by Qatargas.

Qatar Ships 3,000th LNG Cargo To Japan

Qatari liquefied natural gas (LNG) company Qatargas has set another milestone as it successfully delivered the 3,000th LNG cargo to Japan.The cargo was transported onboard Al Jasra, a conventional LNG vessel with a capacity of 135,000 cubic meters. The cargo was delivered to the Kawagoe LNG Receiving Terminal, owned and operated by JERA. The first ever Qatari shipment was delivered to Kawagoe LNG Receiving Terminal on 10th January 1997.Commenting on this achievement, Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, President & CEO of Qatar Petroleum, and Chairman of Qatargas Board of Directors, said: “We are delighted to celebrate the 3000th LNG delivery to Japan. AGL Selects Höegh Esperanza FSRU

EU Funding for Polish LNG Terminal Expansion

Mitsubishi Shipbuilding held a christening ceremony on February 21 for the next-generation LNG (liquefied natural gas) carrier currently under construction for Mitsui & Co., Ltd.The new ship, named Marvel Crane, is a design that significantly improves both LNG carrying capacity and fuel performance due to the adoption of efficient hull structure and hybrid propulsion system. Completion is scheduled for March 2019, after which the Marvel Crane will be put into service, transporting LNG for the Cameron LNG Project in the U.S., in which Mitsui & Co.
