A change-of-command ceremony will be held Thursday morning, July 24, to see a Coast Guard lieutenant commander and graduate of Houston's Alief Hastings High School, Lt. Cmdr. Steve Morris, take command of Maritime Safety and Security Team (MSST) Galveston, assuming the responsibilities of commanding officer from Lt. Cmdr. Chad Holm.

Since Holm's arrival, MSST Galveston has been credited with seizing six kilos of heroin, 35 kilos of cocaine and 1,895 pounds of marijuana; handling security for the 2012 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Conference, six Presidential Security details and the 9/11 commemoration events in New York.
