Crowley Hires Coplen as Wind Services VP

Crowley named Mark Coplen as vice president of project management for Crowley Wind Services, where he will be a key leader in advancing the company’s growth and market leadership in the offshore wind industry. Badal Joins BioBlend Executive Team

Len Badal has joined the senior executive team of BioBlend Renewable Resources, LLC, as the company grows its management team to help meet growing demand for environmentally friendly lubricants. Badal is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, and holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Rice University in Houston. Throughout his career Badal has held a number of high-level positions with both Chevron and ExxonMobil and delivers a diverse range of experience that will aid BioBlend’s future growth, the company said.

Huffman Joins Blank Rome in Houston

Blank Rome LLP announced that Jay T. Huffman has joined the Firm as an associate in the Maritime, International Trade, and Public Contracts group. He is based in the Firm’s Houston office. Huffman joins Blank Rome from Royston, Rayzor, Vickery & Williams, L.L.P. Transocean to Appoint Miller to Board

Transocean Ltd. Assuming Miller is elected by shareholders at the EGM, the board intends to designate him as Vice Chairman. Transocean explained that Ian C. Strachan, the current Chairman of the Board, will reach 72 years of age before the 2015 Annual General Meeting (AGM). In accordance with the company's Corporate Governance Guidelines, it is anticipated thathe will retire from the board at the end of his term at the 2015 AGM. The board currently expects to recommend that shareholders elect Miller in his place as Chairman at the 2015 AGM. Miller is the Executive Chairman of NOW Inc., a spinoff of the distribution business of National Oilwell Varco, Inc., a supplier of oilfield services and equipment to the oil and gas industry.

Ferrin Joins TranSystems’ Maritime Group

TranSystems, an engineering and consulting firm that provides integrated solutions for transportation infrastructure challenges to facilitate the movement of goods and people, announced the addition of Frederick (Rick) Ferrin to our Jacksonville, Fla., office. Ferrin brings 22 years of marine experience as both an engineer and port director. In his new role as Vice President, he will focus his efforts on developing business and serving the firm’s clients in the Southeast and Gulf Coast regions. Ferrin comes to TranSystems from the Jacksonville Port Authority where he served as CEO directing all facets of daily port administration, operations, planning, engineering, maintenance, finance, security, marketing and business development.

Harley Marine Announces Reorganization

Harley Marine Services will reorganize its leadership team in order to accommodate customers and field personnel. Jim Lowe has been named general manager for Harley Marine Services, Southern California. In his role, Lowe will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Harley Marine Services family of companies in Southern California including: Millennium Maritime, West Oil Marine Services, Public Service Marine, and Pacific Coast Maritime. He is specifically responsible fore leading the various companies to improve customer service while optimizing operational efficiency. Troy Goodman has been named VP of Corporate Services for Harley Marine Services.

GE Marine Engines Appoints Douglas As Marketing Director

GE Marine Engines has appointed Richard K. Douglas as director, Marketing and Sales. Douglas will lead the worldwide marketing and sales effort for GE's full line of LM marine gas turbines and main reduction gears. Prior to joining GE in 1996 after retiring from the U.S. Army, he served as GE Aircraft Engines' Asia Regional Black Belt for Six Sigma in Tokyo, Japan. Douglas also held the position of a senior regional director and business development leader, instrumental in launching the GE90-powered 777X aircraft in Japan. Douglas holds an M.P.A. from Harvard, and a B.S. degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.
