General Dynamics Bags Nuclear Submarine Contract

The U.S. Navy has awarded General Dynamics Electric Boat a $32.6 million contract modification to perform nuclear-maintenance work for submarines homeported at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton. Electric Boat is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics. Under the contract, Electric Boat will continue to operate the Nuclear Regional Maintenance Department (NRMD) at the submarine base. The company will provide project management, planning, training and nuclear services to support maintenance, modernization and repairs. A core group of about 25 Electric Boat employees are assigned to the NRMD, with surge groups of up to 100 shipyard employees assigned for short periods.

U.S. Navy Awards General Dynamics $17 Million for Support Services

The U.S. Navy awarded General Dynamics Electric Boat two contract modifications worth a total value of $16.8 million to perform nuclear and nonnuclear maintenance work for submarines homeported at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton. Electric Boat is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics. Under the first contract, valued at $8.8 million, Electric Boat will continue to operate the Nuclear Regional Maintenance Department (NRMD) at the submarine base. The company will provide project management, planning, training and nuclear services to support maintenance, modernization and repairs.

General Dynamics Awarded $20 Million for Submarine Maintenance

The company has been awarded two initial contract modifications to date, valued at $25 million.

Under the contract, Electric Boat will continue to operate the Nuclear Regional Maintenance Department (NRMD) at the submarine base. The company will provide project management, planning, training and radiological-control services to support maintenance, modernization and repairs.  A core group of approximately 25 Electric Boat employees are assigned to the NRMD, with surge groups of up to 100 shipyard employees assigned for short periods.   The contract has a potential value of $23.6 million over 9 months.

General Dynamics $73M Contract to Support Naval Sub Base

General Dynamics Electric Boat has been awarded two contract modifications by the U.S. Navy to provide a range of services in support of nuclear submarines and related facilities and equipment at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton. The modifications are worth a combined $72.6m. Electric Boat is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD). Under the terms of a $45.6m modification, Electric Boat will continue to perform non-nuclear submarine modernization and repair services at the Naval Submarine Support Facility in support of submarines, the Shippingport floating dry-dock as well as support and service craft. About 270 Electric Boat employees are engaged in the work.

Electric Boat is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics. Under the terms of the contract modification, Electric Boat will continue to operate the Nuclear Regional Maintenance Department (NRMD) at the submarine base through September 30, 2002. The company will provide project management, planning, training, and radiological-control services to support maintenance, modernization and repairs in support of operational submarines. A core group of 20 Electric Boat employees are assigned to the NRMD, with surge groups of up to 60 shipyard employees for short periods.
