Abakan Incorporates Subsidiary, MesoCoat

Abakan Inc., a company in the advanced coatings and metal formulations markets, announced the incorporation of a new subsidiary, MesoCoat Coating Services Inc. (MCS), to provide thermal spray coating services using its multiple award-winning nanocomposite PComP coating materials to improve component longevity and to combat corrosion and wear in the oil and gas, mining, aerospace, chemicals, metal processing and metal finishing industries. MCS will provide wear- and corrosion-resistant coating application services utilizing conventional thermal spray powders, as well as proprietary PComP(TM) nanostructured coating materials. NASA Cites Marotta Controls With Excellence

NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center has named Marotta Controls, Inc., a provider of fluid control systems, components and actuators, as the winner of the Contractor Excellence Award in the Small Business Product Category. This award honors Marotta as a valued supplier, most recently demonstrated by its highly successful cold gas microthruster program. Marotta is supplying its station-keeping cold gas microthrusters to Goddard's New Millennium Program's Space Technology 5 (ST5) Project. The Program's goal is to flight test miniaturized satellites and innovative technologies in Earth's magnetosphere. Marotta's microthrusters – whichwere delivered ahead of schedule and on budget – provide performance efficiency 25 percent higher than the specified requirements.

General Dynamics Awards Contract to Marotta

General Dynamics Bath Iron Works, a business unit of General Dynamics has awarded Marotta a contract to provide solenoid valves on the DDG-51 Class of Navy ships. The contract with options is valued at over $500,000. "The awarding of this contract is another strong indication of Marotta's solid and continually expanding relationship with General Dynamics and speaks well of the high-quality products we are providing to them," said Mike Leahan, Vice President and Chief Sales Officer at Marotta. "Marotta is proud to supply General Dynamics and the U.S. Navy with our fluid control systems." The valves are being designed, manufactured and tested at Marotta's Montville, NJ facility.
