CMA CGM's New LNG Flagship Takes on Record Container Load

The world’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered containership, CMA CGM Jacques Saade, has set a new world record for the most full containers loaded on a single vessel.On her Monday departure from Singapore, the CMA CGM Group’s new flagship was carrying a record 20,723 full containers, according to French shipping company CMA CGM.After joining CMA CGM’s fleet in September, the new record-breaking containership is now on her maiden voyage on the CMA CGM Group’s French Asia Line (FAL 1), connecting Asia with Europe.

Yang Ming to Launch New ITS Service

Taiwanese ocean shipping company Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation said that encouraged by the steady economic growth and foreign trade in between Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, it  continues to enhance its Southeast Asia deployment with the new ITS service (Indonesia - Singapore/Malaysia - Thailand Service).The ITS service is set to be launched on November 12th, 2019, Yang Ming said.A total of three container ships with loadable capacity of 1,180 TEU each will be deployed for ITS service, of which one is contributed by Yang Ming. TS Lines Adds Pan Asia Service Loop

PIL Upgrades SE Asia - Aus Services

Singapore-based shipping company Pacific International Lines Pte Ltd (PIL) announced improvements to its Southeast Asia to Australia services to meet the changing needs of the markets.PIL's current Australia-Asia Alliance Service 1 and 2 (AA1 & AA2) will be upgraded to offer more competitive transit times and better port connections.The enhanced AA1 and AA2 services will cover all major ports in Australia with effect from early August, shipper said in a press note.Port rotations of AA1 will be Laem Chabang – Singapore –Melbourne – Sydney – Brisbane - Singapore – Laem Chabang. Yang Ming Announces New Intra-Asia Service

Taiwanese ocean shipping company Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation announced a new Intra-Asia service KVM(Korea–Vietnam–Malaysia Service) jointly operated by YM and APL Co. Pte Ltd through its CNC brand with effect on February 21st, 2019.The service will be operated with three 1,800-TEU container vessels, one by YM and two by APL Co. Ptd Ltd via its CNC brand.The full port rotation will be Kwangyang, Pusan, Kaohsiung, Ho Chi Minh, Port Kelang, Singapore, Haiphong, Kaohsiung, Kwangyang. A round trip will take 21 days.The new service is expected to connect Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia more efficiently and provide customers with more convenient and excellent delivery service.

Yang Ming Launches New China-Malaysia Direct Service

Taiwanese ocean shipping company Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. (YM) has announced the launch of CMS service (China-Malaysia service) with effect on February 23rd, 2019 (estimated time of berth from Qingdao).The service is jointly operated by Yang Ming, Gold Star Line Ltd.(GSL), T.S. Lines Co., Ltd (TSL) and CNC, a brand of APL Co. Pte Ltd. Each carrier will deploy a container vessel of nominal 4,250 TEU capacity, said a statement from the marine transportation company.The ports of call are Qingdao, Shanghai, Xiamen, Nansha, Port Kelang, Penang, Port Kelang, Pasir Gudang, Shekou, Hong Kong, Qingdao. A round trip will take 28 days.In addition to the Intra-Asia deployment of more than 35 services, YM continues to strengthen its service network.

ONE Expands Asia-South America Service

Ocean Network Express (ONE) announced the further expansion of its Asia - east coast South America service as a follow-up to the earlier announcement detailing the expanded cooperation with Hapag Lloyd.A week ago, ONE announced the expansion of its Asia-South America service. Contaminated Fuels Clog Ship Engines in Singapore

Contaminated marine fuel that clogs and damages ship engines has been found in Singapore, the world's largest ship refuelling hub, according to sources and an alert sent to clients by a marine fuel surveying company.Singapore-based marine fuel surveyor and consulting firm Maritec Pte Ltd warned clients this week that six samples of ship fuel sold in Singapore had "resulted in severe sludging at centrifuges, clogged pipelines, overwhelmed fuel filters".The Singapore findings follow reports of more than 100 vessels that loaded similarly contaminated fuel in the U.S.

USNS Mercy Arrives in Malaysia

U.S. and partner nation personnel participating in Pacific Partnership 2018 aboard the U.S. Navy hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19), arrived in Port Kelang, Malaysia, April 16. The Pacific Partnership mission in Malaysia will feature medical exchanges, civil engineering projects, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HA/DR) preparedness seminars, and community outreach engagements in the greater Kuala Lumpur area. The secondary mission platform for Pacific Partnership, the expeditionary fast transport ship USNS Brunswick (T-EPF 6) will arrive in Tawau, Malaysia April 21 for a series of civil engineering, medical and outreach engagements with the local community and Royal Malaysian Armed Forces.

CMA CGM BIANCA, Largest Ship to Call in Cameroon (Kribi)

Ocean Alliance Launches Day Two Product

The Ocean Alliance has launched its new Day Two Product with an estimated 3.6 million TEU carrying capacity provided by approximately 340 containerships deployed on 41 services. The new offering will commence in April 2018. Alliance partners CMA CGM, COSCO, Evergreen and OOCL will offer 20 Transpacific services, six Asia-Europe services, four Asia-Mediterranean services, four Transatlantic services, five Asia-Middle East services and two Asia-Red Sea services. “Ocean Alliance has been a fantastic success from a customer perspective since its launch last spring and we are very enthusiastic to announce our Day Two Product,” said Olivier Nivoix, Senior Vice President Ocean Alliance Lines.

CMA CGM Reorganises Its Asia - West Africa Services

In line with the West Africa market trend, CMA CGM Group adapts its service offering while continuing to improve its service reliability and cost efficiency. Withdrawal of WAX 2 service. HDASCO Returns to Le Havre

Starting February 2017, HDASCO Line provides a new commercial offer between HAROPA – Port of Le Havre and many Iranian and Iraqi ports. HDASCO Line (Hafez Darya Arya Shipping Company), also named HDS lines, is the Iranian national shipping company specialized in container transport and a subsidiary of IRISL Group (Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines). This new service offers very competitive transit times: 19 days between Le Havre and Bandar Abbas for example. DP World London Gateway Adds New Shipping Service

DP World London Gateway Port has announced a new shipping service to Australia, the Mediterranean and other key markets. CMA-CGM’s NEMO (North European Mediterranean Oceania) and Hapag Lloyd’s EAX (Europe, Australia Express) combined service will begin calling at DP World London Gateway Port in early January 2017, with CMA CGM’s Rossini as the first to call on the service. The new business will mean DP World London Gateway is handling all of the UK’s direct services to Australia. In addition to four port calls at cities in Australia, the service will provide the Port with more direct links between Singapore, Malaysia, India, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Malta and Italy.

OCEAN ALLIANCE Sets Out Network

Members of the OCEAN ALLIANCE, COSCO Container Lines, CMA CGM, Evergreen Line and Orient Overseas Container Line,  signed a document entitled the Day One Product, which sets out the proposed OCEAN ALLIANCE’s network, including port rotation for each service loop. The Day One network intends to deploy around 350 container vessels with an estimated total carrying capacity of 3.5 million TEUs to provide one of the most comprehensive service coverage in the market on the following trade lanes.
