the installation of a pair of Cummins (CMI)
QSK19 engines with 3:1 ZF gears in an adjacent shed. The launch, built to Hong Kong Marine Department standards, has a pair of Cummins/Onan generator sets and a 15-knot running speed.
On the inland side of the building sheds, steel is being cut and shaped for additional projects. At the fitting out dock, a handsome 29.4-metre tug is having a pair of 12-cylinder 1200-HP Cummins KTA38-M2 engines fitted. The engines will drive through a ZF 6:1 reduction gears to turn four-bladed propellers in kort nozzles. The boat has an 8.7-metre beam and a moulded depth of 4.1 metres.
The tug, T.B.Martha I, was ordered by a Singapore-based broker on behalf of an Indonesian customer. The 2400 horsepower Bureau Veritas classed ocean-going tug will have a free running speed of 12 knots. The bollard pull on the Dutch-built Mampaey Off Shore Industries towing hook will be 40 tons. A large hawser winch on the bow equips the tug well for ship handling.
