InfraStrata Joins Forces with Navantia

InfraStrata, the parent company of Belfast shipyard Harland and Wolff, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Spanish shipbuilding company Navantia SA.Under the MoU, the companies plan to cooperate on offshore wind projects, among other things.Subject to completion of the acquisition of the assets of Harland & Wolff Heavy Industries Ltd and Harland & Wolff Group PLC by InfraStrata, the memorandum envisages utilizing these assets for the purposes of providing a range of services to Navantia, the company said.These services will include supporting Navalia in its proposed tender for contracts to provide three new Fleet Solid Support ships for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary in the UK.

Top Tankers Receives M/T Edgeless

TOP Tankers Inc has taken delivery of the M/T Edgeless, a 147,048 DWT double-hull Suezmax tanker, built in 1994 by Harland & Wolff Heavy Industries Ltd, of the United Kingdom. The vessel has been financed with the Company's cash reserves and secured bank debt. The M/T Edgeless is the final of four Suezmax deliveries for the fourth quarter of 2005 and will be deployed in the spot market, which currently averages approximately $75,000 per day.

TOP Tankers Takes Delivery Of Suezmax Tanker

TOP Tankers has taken delivery of the M/T Errorless, a 147,048 DWT tanker, built in 1994 by Harland & Wolff Heavy Industries Ltd, of the United Kingdom. The vessel has been financed with the Company's cash reserves and secured bank debt. The M/T Errorless is the third of four Suezmax deliveries for the fourth quarter of 2005, with the remaining vessel expected by the beginning of December 2005. The Errorless has been chartered for a spot voyage at a TCE rate of approximately $70,000 per day.

Hartland Point Named at Harland and Wolff

The latest vessel to be constructed at Harland and Wolff Heavy Industries Ltd., was officially christened “Hartland Point” by Fiona De Pencier, the wife of Mr Theo de Pencier, Managing Director of Bibby Distribution Ltd. Hartland Point is the first of two RoRo ferries under construction by Harland and Wolff for the AWSR Shipping Ltd., as part of the Strategic Sealift Service for the U.K. Ministry of Defense. Along with the 150 invited guests, Primary 6 children from Ben Madigan Preparatory School, St Therese of Lisieux Primary School and Comber Primary School joined in the celebrations as the band of the Police Service of Northern Ireland struck up “Congratulations” following the traditional breaking of champagne and three long blasts of the ships horn.
