Tesoro Recognizes Crowley's West Coast Harbor Ops

In recognition of Crowley Maritime Corporation's safe harbor ship assist and tanker escort operations on the west coast, Tesoro Maritime Company recently honored Crowley's harbor services team with safe work awards - one for each of the past four years - during a ceremony in Crowley's Seattle office. Crowley's Andrew Gauthier, port captain; Scott Hoggarth, general manager of harbor ship assist and tanker escort services; and tug crewmembers Abe Gueller, Tom File and Chuck Klausmeier were present to accept the awards from Captain Tim Plummer, vice president of Tesoro Maritime.

Tesoro Recognizes Crowley for Zero Spills, Incidents

Zero spills and zero incidents is good news for Crowley, its customers and the citizens who rely on responsible companies to keep Alaska's waterways clean. In an informal presentation, Captain Jack Jensen, marine superintendent for Tesoro in Nikiski, presented crewmembers of Crowley's tug Vigilant with a third consecutive annual award recognizing their commitment to safety and the environment by concluding 2010 with zero spills and incidents. The Vigilant is on long-term charter to Tesoro and is stationed in Cook Inlet, Alaska, where it provides ship assist and escort services for Tesoro operated tankers moving in and out of the Tesoro Refinery dock (KPL) in Nikiski, Alaska.

Hvide And Tesoro Commence Double Hull Service

Hvide Marine and Tesoro Maritime have begun a new double-hull petroleum transport service in Alaskan waters. The 46,000-ton HMI Cape Lookout Shoals - one of Hvide's new U.S.-flagged Lightship-class double-hull tankers - began charter the first week of August. Operating under a three-year contract with Gold Star Maritime, which is a subsidiary of Tesoro Maritime Company, the vessel will service a trio of refineries owned and operated by Tesoro. The refineries are located in Nikiski, Alaska on Cook Inlet; Anacortes, Wash.; and Kapolei, Hawaii. The tanker, which will for the most part be employed in northern waters, will have a typical itinerary that includes transporting Cook Inlet crude from the Drift River Loading Platform to the Kenai Pipe Line Company dock…

Seabulk,Tesoro Extend Tanker Deal

Seabulk International, Inc. announced the extension of time charters with Tesoro Maritime Company on two of its U.S.- flag double-hull tankers through July 2010. began her original Tesoro charter in the summer of 2000, followed by her sister ship, the Seabulk Pride, in the summer of 2001. operated by Tesoro in Nikiski, Alaska on Cook Inlet; Anacortes, Washington on the Puget Sound, and at Kapolei, Hawaii. safety and environmental protection in sensitive Pacific coastal waters. Gerhard E. Kurz, chairman, president and chief executive officer of parent company Seabulk International, added, "These contract extensions are part of strategy of ensuring a reliable long-term source of future earnings.
