Transas HQ Moved to Ireland

As of July 2003, the International Headquarters of the marine IT specialist, Transas, has moved to Cork, Ireland. The move to Ireland is a logical consequence of the company’s ongoing expansion into international markets. Today Transas is represented in some 90 countries worldwide with more Transas offices to be established within the coming months. As the center of international commercial operations Ireland has the advantage of being located in the euro zone and offers a strong base of experienced, well-educated personnel from which to staff its operations. Hyundai, Transas Team to Develop IBS

The Electro Electric Systems Division of Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd, the major global shipbuilder, has chosen Transas as a cooperation partner for the joint development of the new Hyundai – Transas intelligent bridge system (HTIBS). According to the agreement, the new advanced HTIBS to be presented to the international commercial marine market will incorporate hardware and software elements from both manufacturers. Transas Reports Another Successful Year

According to Transas, the year 2002 was marked by substantial growth in sales all over the world and their updated product line. During the year, Transas completed development of the new-generation 3000 line of navigational products. Now, this product line comprises Navi-Sailor 3000, the enhanced version of the electronic chart system with UAIS transponder interface; Navi-Radar 3000, PC-based radar display system; Navi-Conning 3000; and Navi-Fisher 3000, the ectronic chart system specifically adapted for fishery vessels. The line also includes Navi-Bridge 3000, a smart mini-IBS (Integrated Bridge System) designed to make ship control easier and more efficient.

Transas Consolidates Network

From February 24 to 28, Transas Marine Pacific in cooperation with Transas HQ completed a simulation training course and distributor seminar for all Transas distributors in the Asian-Pacific region. Countries participating included Japan, The Philippines, Indonesia, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand. It was the first organizational event of its kind held for the entire South-East Asia region. The subject of the seminar was the development of the Transas Distribution Network in the Asian Pacific region, its structure and further expansion. The participants focused on the promotion strategy for Transas products, their perspectives in the local markets and mutual cooperation between distributors and Transas HUBs.
