Kalmar, part of Cargotec, is to supply a total of 16 terminal tractors to long-standing customer Container Terminal Saint-Petersburg CJSC (CTSP, part of UCL Holding).According to a press release, the order was booked in Cargotec's 2019 Q1 order intake, with delivery of the machines to take place during Q3 of 2019. Located in the Big port of St. Petersburg, Russia, CTSP specialises in handling all types of containerised cargo at its modern facilities, which include an automated control system that enables high-speed container handling on ship, road and rail transport alike.The terminal has seen significant growth in demand in recent years, with a 12% increase in throughput in 2018 compared to the previous year.

A Damen Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD) 1000 was launched at the Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard on January 29. The TSHD, named Sommers, is the lead vessel of a series of three TSHDs 1000 being built for Rosmorport. The TSHDs are scheduled for delivery this year, the contract between Rosmorport and Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard having been signed in April 2014. Keel laying of the Sommers was held in November 2014. The other two dredgers are to be named Kronshlot and Kadosh respectively.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fdnvis has said that the state's proposed port in terms of traffic in Palghar Dahanu district will compete with the port in Gujarat Mundda, reports PTI. "There is natural draught of 20 metres to receive bigger ships. A feasibility study for a satellite port has been completed internally. At present, there is only one big port in Maharashtra — JNPT. The new port will be an alternative to JNPT to decongest ship movement," Fadnavis said. The Dahanu port is being positioned as a multi-cargo port and aimed at decongesting the country's largest container port Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT). State-owned JNPT and the Maharashtra Maritime Board had earlier signed an agreement to build the port, which will have a capacity of up to 100 million tonnes.

State-run Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), India’s busiest container gateway near Mumbai, is planning to build a satellite port in one of the three locations that had already been identified--Vijaydurg, Revas-Karanja and Dahanu. According to sources, though JNPT has finally zeroed in on Dahanu, it is willing to take a second look at Vijaydurg as well, just in case the environment lobby in Dahanu becomes too shrill for comfort. The new port will require around 1,000 hectares. Since there will be no displacement of existing people, as no existing land will need to be acquired, the costs of any mitigation will be limited. The central government is set to grant the new port all the clearances that it might require. This will be the first 20-metre draft port in Maharashtra.

ICT group of companies will invest $30M in construction of the first transport and logistic center in St. Petersburg. This center, is expected to meet the highest international standards, will be constructed on Kubinskaya street in Predportovaya-1 industrial zone. Project management will be carried out by Incotec.
