ICTSI Wins “Best Corporate Bond” Award

International Container Terminal Services, Inc.’s (ICTSI) US$450 million perpetual capital securities issue was recently recognized as the Philippines’ best corporate bond at the The Asset Triple A Country Awards 2015.  ICTSI issued last August the well-structured perpetual securities that were arranged by Citi, Credit Suisse and Standard Chartered.  The issuance generated more than US$1.8 billion of demand from banks, institutional investors and private banking accounts. Rafael D. Consing Jr., ICTSI Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, accepted the award during the The Asset Triple A Country Awards 2015 dinner at the Harbour View Ballroom of the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong last 12 January 2016.

ClassNK Celebrates 200m GT Mark in New York

NEW YORK – On November 27, 2012 Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK) chairman Noboru Ueda and colleagues hosted a festive reception for local shipping executives and guests at the Four Seasons Hotel New York in celebration of Class NK’s passing of the 200 million gross ton mark, making it the largest classification society in the world by this measure. The highlight of the night: the Japanese 'kagamiwari' ceremony, or breaking of the Saki cask, which is a traditional ceremony to mark momentous occasions.

Smart Shipping 2011: A Different Viewpoint

Measuring Quality in Ship Management

The results of a three year study designed to draw up a pan‐industry set of usable and comparable Key Performance Indicators to measure quality ship management services will be unveiled by InterManager, the trade association of in‐house and third part ship managers, at its Annual General Meeting in Singapore on November 17th. Image Marine To Build 'True North'

Image Marine has announced a contract for a live-aboard adventure vessel for North Star Cruises.The repeat contract demonstrates the confidence the client has in Image Marine’s expertise in this specialist field. North Star Cruises took delivery of its first live-aboard, the Image Marine-built ‘True North’, in January 1999. With capacity for 28 passengers in 14 cabins, the 34.5 metre vessel has proved hugely successful cruising the remote Kimberley region of North Western Australia and led to North Star Cruises’ reputation as one of the most renowned tourist operations in Australia. North Star Cruises Director, Mr Craig Howson said Image Marine was an obvious choice to build the vessel.

Changes in GL’s Executive Board

Rainer Schöndube, Member of the Executive Board at Germanischer Lloyd AG, will conclude his tenure at the classification society based in Hamburg on 30 September 2007. guests came to his farewell at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hamburg. At the beginning of Schöndube's career, in 1980, Germanischer Lloyd had 535 employees. Today, over 4,100 employees in over 76 countries work for the classification society. During this period Germanischer Lloyd's newbuilding orderbook rose from 1.1 million GT to over 24 million GT. The Fleet in Service which Germanischer Lloyd monitors has grown since 1980 from 16.5 million GT to over 70 million GT. The number of ships under regular supervision has nearly doubled, and currently totals more than 6,300 units.
