Bumi Armada Sells Armada Claire FPSO

Malaysian FPSO leasing company Bumi Armada said Tuesday it had completed the sale of the Armada Claire floating production storage and offloading vessel. The FPSO was sold by Bumi Armada's subsidiary, Armada Balnaves."The Armada Claire sale was on an “as is where is” basis, at a sale price of US$20 million. The sale proceeds were received by [Armada Balnaves] on April 19, 2023," Bumi Armada said,Bumi Armada said it would recognize a gain on sale of the Armada Claire FPSO of approximately US$12 million in its second quarter financial results. Proceeds from the FPSO sale, net of transaction fees, will be used to reduce Bumi Armada Group’s corporate debt.

Solstad's PSV, AHTS Secure Australia Contracts

Solstad Nabs More Work for Offshore Vessel Trio in Australia

Semi-sub Rig Undergoes Long Distance Tow

Maersk Supply Service has completed the tow of a semi-submersible from Las Palmas to North-Western Australia. The tow was carried out by newbuild anchor handling tug supply vessel Maersk Master of the Starfish series, whose energy efficient design minimized fuel costs during transit.The first leg of the tow of the semi-submersible MODU rig was direct from Las Palmas to Cape Town. Bumi Armada Seeks Compensation for FPSO Termination

Malaysia’s Bumi Armada Bhd intends to fully enforce its rights, including initiating legal proceedings against Woodside Energy Julimar Pty Ltd for purportedly terminating its charter contract of the Armada Claire Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit. Bumi Armada Berhad has earlier announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Armada Balnaves, has received notice from Woodside Energy Julimar terminating the contract for FPSO Armada Claire, currently operating in the Balnaves Field off north-western Australia. The company claimed that the purported notice of termination was not valid, and instead it was tantamount to a cancellation for convenience or alternatively, was a repudiation of the contract by Woodside, pursuant to which the company was entitled to a compensation.

New Wärtsilä Propeller Speeds Up Australian FPSO

Wärtsilä say that the technical design and installation of a new fixed pitch propeller (FPP)  for the floating production storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) Ngujima-Yin has been successfully completed. The FPSO is operated by Woodside Energy Ltd, an independent Australian oil and gas company and operates in the Vincent offshore oil field in north-western Australia. Lloyd’s Releases Guide for FLNG Facilities

Lloyd’s Register published a rule set to guide the design, construction and operation of floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facilities – the biggest, most complex floating structures ever seen – meaning natural gas will now be safer, cheaper and have a lower environmental footprint, the company said. Launched today, Lloyd’s Register’s Offshore Rules for FLNG vessels and facilities are based on a real-world projects and extensive work with key industry alliances. The Offshore Rules for FLNG reinforce Lloyd’s Register’s position at the forefront of new maritime and energy technology, building upon the work the company has performed with numerous LNG firsts, such as classing the first LNG fuelled tanker, Argonon.

Image Marine To Build 'True North'

Image Marine has announced a contract for a live-aboard adventure vessel for North Star Cruises.The repeat contract demonstrates the confidence the client has in Image Marine’s expertise in this specialist field. North Star Cruises took delivery of its first live-aboard, the Image Marine-built ‘True North’, in January 1999. With capacity for 28 passengers in 14 cabins, the 34.5 metre vessel has proved hugely successful cruising the remote Kimberley region of North Western Australia and led to North Star Cruises’ reputation as one of the most renowned tourist operations in Australia.
