In this position, Mr. Marino is primarily responsible for overseeing and managing the subsea cable and hardware testing laboratory functions for the company. He also will serve as the liaison between PMI and various domestic and international government agencies, as well as independent contractors.
Previously, Mr. Marino was the Manager for PMI's Engineering Department that develops subsea cable hardware. He joined PMI in 1985 as a project engineer. The PMI Testing Laboratory conducts dynamic testing for subsea communications cables, rope, and hose assemblies as well as cable hardware and termination devices to determine their performance under load. The laboratory also offers testing that simulates at-depth pressure loading with hydrostatic chambers to assure successful installation and performance of cables, connections and hardware. These tests, and others such as tensile strength, bending performance, environmental durability, are critical to ensure the integrity and long service life for subsea cable systems.
