Kalmar Bags Chinese Reachstacker Order

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has received an order from China Railway Ürümqi Group Co., Ltd. to supply a total of 10 reachstackers. This order has been booked into Cargotec's second quarter 2018 order intake, with delivery scheduled to take place in the third quarter of 2018. The Ürümqi Railway Bureau is located in the core economic zone of the One Belt and One Road initiative and its railway line is the key connecting bridge for the new economic trade link between Asia and Europe. Langh Ship Recognized for Innovation

A steel transportation method developed by Oy Langh Ship Ab was awarded an honorable mention in the Finnish nationwide Productive Idea Competition. The award was presented at a banquet on Oct. 25, 2008 and received by Managing Director Hans Langh. Human Smuggling Operation Uncovered on West Coast

There may be links between the case of 36 illegal Chinese immigrants found on a container ship here on Tuesday and a similar human smuggling operation uncovered last week in Long Beach, California, Canadian officials said. A Canadian Customs official said it was "highly likely" the two smuggling attempts were connected, but police said they had not confirmed the same smugglers were involved. Both attempts involved hiding the human cargo in squalid shipping containers designed for freight. The containers in which the migrants were found in Vancouver were bound for Long Beach.
