Fourth CTV Launched for WindServe Marine

Senesco Marine held a launch and christening ceremony for WindServe Marine's new Jones-Act-compliant crew transfer vessel (CTV), WindServe Explorer.WindServe Marine, a sister company to the North Kingstown, R.I. shipbuilder—both part of the Reinauer Group—will operate the CTV to serve the U.S. offshore wind industry. The vessel is slated to enter operations at a project in the U.S. Northeast.The BMT-designed aluminum catamaran is 27 meters long with a 9-meter beam and 1.7-meter draft.

Senesco Marine on Wednesday launched a new Jones-Act-compliant crew transfer vessel (CTV), WindServe Journey.WindServe Marine, a sister company to the North Kingstown, R.I. shipbuilder—both part of the Reinauer Group—will operate the CTV to serve the U.S. offshore wind industry. The vessel is slated to enter operations at a project in the U.S. Northeast.The BMT-designed aluminum catamaran is 27 meters long with a 9-meter beam and 1.7-meter draft. It is equipped with Volvo Penta D13 main engines (515kW at 2,300 RPM) and a Volvo Penta IPS 900 propulsion system.

Intelsat Launches Intelsat 31

Intelsat S.A. (NYSE: I), operator of the world’s first Globalized Network, powered by its leading satellite backbone, announced the successful launch of the Intelsat 31 satellite, which is hosting the DLA-2 payload for DIRECTV Latin America. Intelsat 31 was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan aboard an ILS Proton launch vehicle. Liftoff occurred at 7:10 GMT. The Intelsat 31 satellite separated from the rocket’s upper stage at 22:41 GMT, and signal acquisition has been confirmed. KVH Industries, Inc. informs it is introducing the TracVision TV-series, a powerful family of fully stabilized marine satellite television antenna systems designed to provide superior performance, including HDTV, for worldwide satellite TV entertainment at sea. Intellian to Debut Pair of 3-Axis TV Antennas

Intellian Technologies announced the upcoming release of two compact 33 inch (83 cm), 3-axis stabilized TV antennas. Shipping in March 2012, the Intellian t80 and t80W are specifically designed for use on yachts and commercial vessels requiring a compact antenna size with global satellite TV service reception. The Intellian t80 antennas use a fully stabilized 3-axis platform, as well as a fourth axis for LNB auto-skew control, ensuring seamless operation in all regions. Multiple HD receivers can be connected to the system as standard, providing a truly hands off global coverage depending on the regions visited. KVH Q4 2009 Results

KVH Industries, Inc., (NASDAQ:KVHI) reported financial results for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2009. Revenue for the fourth quarter of 2009 was $26.3 million, up 24% from the quarter ended December 31, 2008. Net income for the period was $1.8 million, or $0.13 per diluted share. During the same period last year the company reported net income of $0.3 million or $0.02 per diluted share. For the year ended December 31, 2009, revenue was $89.1 million, up 8% compared to $82.4 million for the year ended December 31, 2008. KVH reported a net loss of $0.1 million or $0.01 per share for 2009. During the same period last year, the company reported net income of $3.1 million or $0.21 per diluted share.

Jet Boat Whistler to Launch

Lyman Morse will Launch its newest and largest jet boat on Thursday, May 14, at its facility in Thomaston, Maine. Whistler is Lyman Morse’s new C. Raymond Hunt designed 54 ft twin jet cruiser. The Whistler features a dinghy garage. A hydraulic gate and sled extend out over the jets allowing the owner to launch the 10 ft tender from the interior storage compartment with the push of a button. Powered by twin 1001 hp Caterpillar C-18s coupled with Hamilton HJ403 water-jets, Whistler will cruise in the low 30s with a max speed of 35 knots.

Intellian’s New k4 Ka-Band HDTV Antenna

The world's marine insurers collectively lost $3 billion in 1999, Norway's Central Union of Marine Underwriters (CEFOR) said. Cefor's calculation uses the collective experience of marine insurers in Norway - one of the world's major marine insurance markets - and extrapolates the results to the global industry. Cefor's md said that not even in their previous worst case estimates did CEFOR anticipate anything like this. The principal reason for the losses is continuing reduction in insurance premium rates, said Formso. On CEFOR's current estimates, rates in 2000 have dropped to 31 per cent of their 1994 levels. Hvide Marine Inc. Hvide Marine Inc. said last Monday that chairman and CEO Jean Fitzgerald has been hospitalized with a heart condition and was to undergo surgery.

For the second year in a row, two communications systems and two navigation products from KVH Industries, Inc. have earned "best product" awards from The National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA).
