OMP Acquires Stake in TEN

The maritime and offshore energy institutional investor OMP is acquitting of US$35m of Series G Redeemable Convertible Perpetual Preferred Shares of the Greek shipping company Tsakos Energy Navigation (TEN) in a private placement.Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) is advising OMP in preferred stock transaction.The Series G Preferred Shares will participate on an as-converted basis in any dividends declared and paid on TEN’s common shares and will be convertible at any time on a three and one-third-for-one basis into TEN common shares.Within the first quarter of 2021, any outstanding Series G Preferred Shares will, subject to certain limitations…

Jiangmen - 3rd Vessel for Pacific Crest

Pacific Crest, the vessel owning subsidiary of Singapore based Pacific Radiance, will soon take delivery of the third in a series of 53-meter towing and supply vessels from Jiangmen Shipyard on the Pearl River in Guangdong Province China. Founded in 1954 the shipyard was purchased by the private Guangdong TianJian Group in 1997. Enjoying an extensive area with covered build locations including covered graving docks the yard is capable of building an impressive array of vessels at once.

AAS to Split?

Aker's Aker American Shipping (AAS) reportedly has decided to split its business into a shipyard and a separate ship-owning company, according to a report on Forbes.com, a move reportedly designed to advance its business prospects in the U.S. Under the plans, American Shipping Corporation will be a vessel-owning subsidiary of AAS, while the shipyard activities will be organized into the newly-established company Aker Philadelphia Shipyard (APS), Forbes.com reported. Aker American Shipping currently has a fleet of ten product tankers and two shuttle tankers, under construction or chartered to customers. In 2007, three product tankers have been delivered and chartered, while the nine remaining vessels will be delivered in the period 2008-11.
