THE Alliance Welcomes HMM

The members of THE Alliance, Hapag-Lloyd, Ocean Network Express, and Yang Ming have welcomed Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) as a new core member of THE Alliance.With the US Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) acceptance of HMM membership, THE Alliance offers an attractive upgraded product package and it will be launched around April 1st, 2020.Based on the existing comprehensive network of THE Alliance, the newly en-hanced product package will offer increasing frequency particularly from South East Asia, as well as new direct port coverage and improved transit times.Now that HMM joined The Alliance, its new offering for 2020 will consist of 33 services, 280 ships and a coverage of 78 ports globally.

Kelvin Hughes New Entertainment Service

Kelvin Hughes is offering a new crew entertainment package after signing an exclusive agreement with Headland Media. This agreement authorises Kelvin Hughes to sell Headland Media’s film, book, music, sports, and game service, Walport Entertainment On-Board. This will be a new addition to Kelvin Hughes’ existing navigational products. Walport Entertainment On-Board from Headland Media comprises a choice of the latest international film releases and classics, hit TV shows from UK and US, DVD coverage of major sporting events, CDs and pop videos covering a wide range of music, an unrivalled selection of books and magazines, and popular video games, including PS2, PS3, Xbox and Wii.

TNWA Offers Two New Direct Shuttles

The New World Alliance (TNWA) carriers – APL, Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) –  announced two new direct shuttle services linking , and on the US West Coast. Beginning in mid-May, the current PS3 service will be divided into two services. For Central China, where the market is experiencing significant growth, TNWA will offer the PS3, a direct service between , and . This enhancement will provide one of the fastest transit times in the industry; 11-day direct service from to . TNWA will also launch a new “the Japan-America Shuttle (JAS)”, which will enable TNWA to offer customers more port coverage in Japan than currently offered by other transpacific services and will also ensure a more reliable service that focuses solely on the Japan market.
