Keppel Shipyard Secures S$142 Million Contracts

Keppel Shipyard Ltd (Keppel Shipyard) has secured three conversion contracts worth a total of S$142 million. These conversion contracts are to convert a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Carrier to a Floating Storage Unit (FSU), a VLCC tanker to a Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) unit as well as a tanker to a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit. Mr Nelson Yeo, Managing Director of Keppel Shipyard, said, "We are glad to have the trust and confidence of the global industry for a range of conversion projects. Working closely with our customers, we will continue to enhance and extend our capabilities, and ensure safe and high quality deliveries." The first contract is for the fast-track conversion of the LNG carrier Tenaga Empat into a FSU for Malaysian customer MISC Berhad.

Keppel to deliver the first FPSO for Brazil’s OSX

Keppel Shipyard Ltd (Keppel Shipyard) is on track to complete the modification and upgrading works on FPSO OSX-1, the first floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit for OSX Brasil S.A. (OSX). Chartered to OGX Petroleo e Gas Participacoes S.A. (OGX), FPSO OSX-1 will be deployed in the Waimea field, in Campos Basin, offshore Brazil. This project will deliver OGX's first oil, just four years after the company was founded. Production is expected to commence in the last quarter of this year. Lady Sponsor Cristina Pinto named the vessel today in the presence of Mr Joao Ziccardi Navajas, Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of Brazil in Singapore, and Mr Reinaldo Belotti, Production Director of OGX.

Keppel on Track to Complete FSO

Keppel Shipyard Ltd (Keppel Shipyard) is on track to complete the fast-track conversion of FSO Sepat, a floating production and storage (FSO) unit, for Bumi Armada Navigation Sdn Berhad (Bumi Armada). With a storage capacity of 500,000 barrels of oil, FSO Sepat will be deployed in offshore Malaysia for the development of the Sepat field for PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd. Naming the vessel today was the Lady Sponsor Datin Aspalela Mohd Yusop, the spouse of Datuk Abdullah Karim, President of PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd. "We are pleased to have been entrusted with all of Bumi Armada's FPSO and FSO conversion projects to date," said Mr Nelson Yeo, Managing Director of Keppel Shipyard. "FSO Sepat is another conversion unit that Keppel is delivering to Bumi Armada this year.

EMAS to take delivery of FPSOs from Keppel Shipyard

EMAS Production is set to take delivery of one of Vietnam's largest Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels from Keppel Shipyard Limited (Keppel Shipyard), on behalf of owner PV Keez Pte. Ltd (PV Keez). To be managed and operated by EMAS Production, FPSO Lewek EMAS has been chartered by Premier Oil Vietnam Offshore B.V. for the development of the Chim Sáo field off southern Vietnam for six years, with a further option to extend the charter by another six years. The FPSO charter contract is one of only seven signed worldwide in 2009, and is worth approximately US$1 billion.

Keppel Bags Offshore & Marine Jobs

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), through its wholly-owned subsidiaries in Singapore, has clinched new contracts totaling S$240 million from international customers. Keppel Acquires Stake in Dyna-Mac, Topside Module Fabricator

Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M), through its wholly-owned subsidiary KS Investments Pte Ltd (KSI), has acquired a 27.77% stake (250,000,000 shares) in topside module fabricator Dyna-Mac Holdings Ltd (Dyna-Mac) via an equity placement. This follows Dyna-Mac's successful listing on the main board of Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited (SGX) today. KSI's total investment is S$87.5 million based on the invitation price of 35 cents per share. The equity placement, through its investment vehicle KSI, is part of a collaboration between Keppel Shipyard (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel O&M) and Dyna-Mac to jointly pursue the topside module business beyond Singapore's shores.

Keppel Secures S$240M in Shipbuilding Contracts

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), through wholly-owned subsidiaries Keppel Shipyard Limited and Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd, has clinched new contracts totalling S$240 million. These comprise the upgrading of a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel, the conversion of a livestock carrier, as well as the building of a diving support vessel. With these latest projects, the total value of new contracts secured by Keppel O&M in 2010 has edged up to S$3.2 billion. Keppel Shipyard Contract to Modify FPSO OSX-1

Keppel Shipyard Limited (Keppel Shipyard) has secured a contract for the modification of the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel OSX-1, worth approximately S$50 million. The FPSO OSX-1 is owned by OSX 1 Leasing B.V., a subsidiary of OSX Brasil S/A. Commencing in the third quarter of 2010, Keppel Shipyard’s scope of work includes procurement, detailed engineering and the modification of the topside process modules. Keppel Shipyard will work with BW Offshore, which will provide project management, engineering services and technical guidance services to OSX 1 Leasing B.V.

Another Conversion for Keppel Shipyard

Keppel Shipyard Ltd is close to completing the conversion of FPSO Armada Perdana for repeat customer Bumi Armada Berhad (Bumi Armada). A ceremony for the naming of the Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading vessel (FPSO) prior to its deployment in the Oyo field, 70km off the coast of Nigeria was held at the shipyard. The vessel is expected to deliver first oil in fourth Quarter 2009. The Secretary to The Government Federation of Nigeria, Mr. Mahmud Yayale Ahmed, and Nigeria’s Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Dimeji Bankole were in attendance.

Keppel Awarded 3 Projects

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), through Keppel Shipyard Limited (Keppel Shipyard) and Keppel FELS Brasil SA (Keppel FELS Brasil), has secured three contracts worth a total of about S$300m. The first two projects, secured by Keppel Shipyard from repeat customers, are for the construction of a derrick lay barge and the modification of a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel. The third project is awarded by a new customer, Noble Drilling (Nederland) B.V., to Keppel FELS Brasil, through BrasFELS, for the completion of a deep drilling semisubmersible (semi).

Keppel Shipyard To Build Semi-Tender For Smedvig

Keppel Shipyard Clinches Jumboization Contract

Keppel Shipyard has secured a S$7 million contract from Smedvig Asia for the jumboization and upgrading of their Drilling Tender Barge, Robray T7. On completion of the works, Robray T7 will have enhanced capabilities and will be deployed for offshore operations in Thailand. Keppel Clinches FPSO Conversion Contract

Keppel Shipyard, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Corporation Ltd, has secured a Floating Production Storage & Offloading (FPSO) hull conversion contract worth S$84 million from Marathon Petroleum Company (Norway) on MST Odin. The 87,000 dwt multi-purpose shuttle tanker arrived at Keppel Shipyard for the fast track hull conversion on 19 March. Odin will undergo hull upgrading and modification works which involve procurement, construction and installation of the FPSO hull equipment, including shipboard marine systems, cargo, ballast, inert gas, crude oil washing, fire fighting and electrical and instrumentation. Keppels Wins $174M FPU Conversion

Keppel Shipyard Ltd has entered into an agreement with Charter Development Limited Liability Company (CDC), a special purpose company of ABN Amro Bank’s Brazilian unit, for the hull conversion of a Floating Production Unit (FPU) for $174 million. Work includes marine conversion as well as the fabrication and integration of the internal turret on the 322, 446 dwt tanker, the VLCC Settebello. When completed, the turret, with 75 risers, will be the largest turret ever fabricated and installed in the world. To be named PETROBRAS 53 (P-53), the production unit will be completed in end 2006. The facility will then be towed to a CDC topside contractor yard in Brazil for installation and integration of the topside modules.

Keppel Wins S$100m Contracts

FPSO Umuroa has been delivered to Prosafe Production. Keppel Shipyard Ltd (Keppel Shipyard), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M), has been awarded two conversion contracts, worth a total of S$100 million, one by Prosafe Production Pte Ltd, and the other by Shipping Logistics Incorporated for a long term charter to Perenco S.A. The first contract awarded by Prosafe is for the conversion of a 101,832 dwt double-sided tanker, MT Kudam, into a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility. Subic Shipyard & Engineering Inc (SSEI), an associate of Keppel Shipyard, will carry out the first phase of this FPSO conversion.

KPMI Appoints Yeo as Chairman of Board

Keppel Philippines Marine Inc (KPMI), a company listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange and a subsidiary of Keppel Corporation Limited, has appointed Nelson Yeo as Chairman with effect from. He has also been appointed Chairman of Subic Shipyard & Engineering Inc (SSEI), an associate of Keppel Corporation Limited. Yeo takes over the chairmanship of KPMI and SSEI from Charles Foo, Managing Director (Special Projects) of Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M), who has also resigned as Director of both companies. Foo, who is currently Chairman of Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd of Singapore and Keppel Nantong Shipyard, China, was appointed Chairman of KPMI and SSEI in November 1999.

Keppel Signs Landmark LNG Deal

Keppel Shipyard Limited (Keppel Shipyard), a subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has signed a contract with Golar LNG Limited for the conversion of an existing LNG carrier into a floating Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) storage and re-gasification unit (FSRU). The total contract value is approximately Singapore $90 million. When the conversion is completed in the second quarter of 2007, it will be the first of its type in the world. The conversion will be made based on relevant DNV class rules and international standards. Golar LNG will work in partnership with Keppel Shipyard in the engineering, procurement and construction for the project.

Keppel Completes Conversion of FPSO Brazil

Keppel Shipyard, the marine unit of Keppel Corporation, has set a new benchmark for fast-track conversions of highly complex Floating Production Storage Offloading facilities (FPSO) with the delivery of FPSO Brazil to Single Buoy Moorings (SBM) Inc. Nelson Yeo, Keppel Shipyard’s Executive Director said, “Keppel Shipyard completed this urgent and exacting job in 12 months while the owners are carrying out the engineering specifications and procurement work concurrently. “This is certainly very challenging for both the shipyard and the owners. The scope of the conversion work on Brazil for Keppel is significantly larger than Espadarte FPSO, which Keppel Shipyard had set a record in 2000 as the most complex conversion completed in 10.5 months.
