Brazil Shipyard Delivers Second RAmparts Tugboat

Designers Robert Allan inform that Keppel Singmarine Brasil Ltda. (KSMB), of Navegantes, Brazil have recently completed the construction of the 24m LOA 'SMIT Pareci', the second of a series of six Robert Allan designed RAmparts 2500 tugs, for SMIT Rebocadores do Brasil (Rebras), of Rio de Janeiro. The designers explain that the RAmparts Class tugs are a series of proven, standardized Z-drive tug designs. Each of these designs has been developed from a successful prototype vessel or series of vessels, and refined to emphasize ease of construction and Owners’ specific requirements.

Raytheon Anschütz Wins IBS Contracts

The German navigation system manufacturer Raytheon Anschütz reported a number of contract awards for the delivery of integrated bridge systems to newbuilt vessels for offshore operations. Raytheon Anschütz Singapore, a wholly owned subsidiary of Raytheon Anschütz, will deliver the bridge navigation system and communication systems to a 4,500 dwt Platfrom Supply Vessel built at Keppel Singmarine Brasil shipyard. Shipbuilding: Keppel Wins $113m in Brazilian Contracts

Keppel Singmarine Brasil (KSM Brasil), Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M)'s new 7.6-ha shipbuilding facility in the state of Santa Catarina, has secured two newbuild contracts worth about $113 million from fleet operators in Brazil. The first contract entails building a series of six 45-tonne bollard pull twin-screw Azimuth Stern Drive (ASD) harbour tugboats, for REBRAS - Rebocadores do Brasil S.A. (SMIT Rebras). In the second contract, the yard will construct a large-sized 4500dwt Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) based on its proprietary MTD 9045P-DE design for Keppel O&M's Brazilian ship-owning arm, Guanabara Navegacao Ltda (GNL).This is the first vessel constructed under the business model to build Offshore Support Vessels in anticipation of demand in Brazil…

Keppel New Shipbuilding Yard in Brazil

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), through its wholly-owned Brazilian subsidiary, Navegantes Maritime Construction and Services, has entered into an agreement with Brazil’s TWB Group to acquire the Estaleiro TWB shipyard in Navegantes, Santa Catarina. This acquisition is subject to the fulfillment of conditions by TWB Group. This 7.6-ha shipyard will be operated by Keppel O&M’s specialized shipbuilding arm, Keppel Singmarine. It has a 300-metre long waterfront and is equipped with a slipway, pipe and hull shops and an outfitting quay. Keppel O&M’s total investment in the yard, including further capital expenditure to upgrade and modernise the facility, will be in the region of about $50m.
